This was £77 on Amazon not very long ago. I don't have a time machine, I'm just saying. So cold from me. (edited)

Cold for me too as I have bought it from Amazon prime day not long ago for £77

I also (unhelpfully) got it for £77 and it is a great grinder. Rarely goes to this price though so still a great deal for a burr grinder.

I believe the digital one is exactly same just with a screen so not really worth it, especially if you weigh beans and do single dose.

Also can be ground really fine using the extra settings within the machine

These aren't great. Lots and lots and lots of retention.

You can reduce retention using an RDT spray. Basically a few sprays of water. It's a game changer. It won't completely solve the issue of retention but it's a huge help.

I've been using this for about 6 years now.
Recently upgraded my espresso machine to Rocket Appartmento.
Now deciding whether i should upgrade this to Eureka specialita. Even though the powder coming out of the Sage gave me quite ok espresso, about 30 sec dripping.

An alternative upgrade would be the new Timemore Sculpture. There are two versions. It would require you to also start weighing out individual doses though so you'd need a scale. I also have a set of ten beam vaults (test tubes) so that I can weigh ten doses at a time.

Two other very cheap upgrades that make a big difference are a WDT Tool to break up the clumps once in the basket (having a funnel to stop things spilling will help) and a RDT spray to reduce static so that you get less retention and less clumps in the basket to start with. (edited)

This is decent grinder but not consistent enough / fine enough control to make good home espresso. You’ll get frustrated like I did until you upgrade (to a £400+ machine with much bigger burrs)

What did you get at £400 thats a substantial step up? I have a Wilfa Uniform & that's about as good as i've seen anywhere (but not for espresso) under £1000. Have a missed another "decent middle ground" grinder???

Are Breville and Sage brand stablemates? Pictures are confusing

    Sort of

In the UK they are branded as sage pretty much everywhere else they are branded as Breville(an Australian company). This is because there was already a different company in the uk called Breville selling kitchen appliances. (edited)
