Panasonic DPUB820EBK 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player @ eBay / Hughes Electrical. Superb award-winning 4K Blu-Ray Player, widely considered to be the best UHD player in this price bracket. Price reduced to £289 using code APPLY20. It's been a lot lower historically, but I'm not sure if/when those prices will come again.

Also to note: Richer Sounds will price-beat this by £5, reducing the price further to £284. If you purchase via Richer Sounds you can also purchase a 6-year guarantee for £34.95, which is refunded if you don't use it (Yes, there's the whole 6-year Consumer Rights thing, but I've been down that road myself and it's a whole murky, muddy grey area and I'd have gladly paid this price to not have got tangled up in it all.)

I've been using a Series X for the past couple of years for blu-rays, and it's far from ideal, which is why I've just purchased one of these Panasonic players. No Dolby Vision, no HDR10+, noisy, poor interface, poor remote, and from what I've read the playback, picture and upscaling on the Panasonic absolutely floors the Xbox.

This is worth £289 all day long!
Its a superb machine, Does it all very well,
    4K Dolby vision/SDR/HDR
1080p Bluray or even 480/576 DVD upscaled to 4K is superb
Sound also is as good as it gets.

I paid £200 New from Seveonoaks in a sale 3 years ago, This player is as good as previous Flagship Player’s ive paid £800-£1100 in the past.
Only small neg is the Build quality isnt battle ship build like past masters but who cares when the performance is spot on. (edited)

Really, you only want to pay once for your media, not continually pay for it forever. Especially if you've already paid for it.

Thanks for this. Just bought one from Richer Sounds - they beat the Hughes eBay price by £5 and the 6 year warranty was 10% extra but, as you say, refundable if you don’t need to use it. Worth noting that I got a warranty refunded last year with no hassle. (edited)

Ahh good to hear about the no-hassle warranty refund, it's the first time I've taken out an optional warranty with them, because all my previous stuff has had a 6-year warranty included. (edited)

The last ever UHD player. Get it whilst you can as this is the last disc player ever to be made.

Well Yer you could be right, but those of us after quality will always want a physical disk. But you know this market is not consumer led as such, and there is more profit in streaming, so maybe that's the way it will go.

I've been holding out for that £240-260 price mark to return all year. There's certainly a chance that it could happen again around Black Friday, but since last Black Friday the price of everything has shot up, so there's also a reasonable chance that it might not go back to that.

I think the £349 price has always been the RRP, but last year retailers rarely actually listed it as that, and mostly it was £299. And hence, when discounts came it was based off the £299 price, so you could get it for ~£250. But now it's actually holding steady at the £349 list price, so I think that any discount that Hughes or Richer Sounds etc give at Black Friday will be against the £349 price (such as now).

I could be wrong, but since it's £284 now (from RS) I didn't want to wait another four months to roll the dice.
