Genmaicha tea, it's a kind of Japanese tea with roasted brown rice. It's quite nice, kind of like normal green tea and the rice adds a nutty sort of flavour that mellows against the sharpness of green tea.

But as protein? Might just give it a try at this price

How do they come up with these flavours?
    Immoraliste's avatar
I'm assuming these were flavours for selling into the Japanese market. They had Hokkaido milk, 'matcha latte' and this brown rice tea is 'genmaicha' in Japan.

They probably developed the flavours for that market and then just thought: might as well try them elsewhere, maybe they'll be popular.

Great deal! I tried this before and really liked it, along with the Jasmine Green Tea Latte.

The kettle is on….whether it’ll make
a cuppa tea, a latte or boil some rice. Or do it all. We don’t know
    gg1pl's avatar
Boil rice and tea in the kettle simultaneously, electric is expensive

Not sure if it's any use to anybody but here's student discount (45%) code:

Thanks OP. 5 kg of impact whey and 18 snack bars for £47. Very happy! At that price it can taste like foot cheese…

Product tester: "is this meant to be brown rice or tea or latte?"
    Flavourist: "yes"

I tried the smoked chicken brownie slushie the other day and it was OK.

They raided my grandmother's cupboards and made it into a protein flavour

Obviously a great price for whey right now but why on earth is this even a flovour? I just dare not try it 🤮

    If it wasn't 4 words I'd think this was a what3words location

Well I can see why it's in the clearance section...

    2.5kg is gone

Given that the apple crumble flavour tastes like sherbert this could taste like skittles or peanut m&ms

I don’t mind the odd whey protein bargain flavour gamble but this seems too high a risk (edited)

This might be the wildest flavour yet 💀 and I thought I was gambling by ordering hokkaido milk

Well knock me over with a medicine ball - this is an actual flavour.
    highlanders.com.sg/rec…te/

Still no idea what it'll taste like though. Good luck to those giving it a try.

I'm curious, but nope, not gonna get it. What even is that?

Artificial sweeteners, I wouldn't touch it

What’s wrong with artificial sweeteners ? (Serious question, not being snarky)

Ordered 10 kg, Cheers op flavour sounds awful but it’s cheap as long as it is somewhat drinkable.

I'd prefer something a bit more challenging myself like...I dunno ...
Raspberry Trifle & Fish or Bone Broth & Tizer.
    I am well 'ard though

Do they play dice to choose the flavours?
    CMoore23's avatar
Like the discount and price lottery they use also
  26. HotDan's avatar
When I actually think about it this could be a pretty good flavour.
    Father-Jemima-Racktool's avatar
    No it couldn't
  27. nonono's avatar
This is a great deal. Just not sure of the flavour seems it’s been created by accidental fall of tea in brown ice (edited)
  28. bigdealz's avatar
Get some flavor drops as well

I do like a latte... but the brown rice bit is throwing me off completely

Ordered. Gets mixed with frozen fruit anyway when I make smoothy

Another smoothie amigo, the lazy way to gains, that and I just can't kill 100g of oats in the morning anymore

These flavours are becoming increasingly random. I think it's getting to the stage where any 'flavour' can be sold. What's next dogbreath broth? I got the apple crumble from MP site during prime. Tastes like vanilla so not bad. Happy with the price of £17.50 for 2.5kg.
  32. billyboy101's avatar
It’s not a good deal at all there’s £4 postage on top of the price so £23.82 !!
    enjoy_mush's avatar
I paid £47 for 5kg (2x 2.5kg) and a metal shaker, that got rid of the postage.
The shaker was £9 after discount, so thats £7.60 per kg.

Let's just hope it taste good!

(you need to buy 2 bags to get that price)

It's genmaicha flavour basically, so think a green tea with a hint of popcorn about it

Tried it over the last few days
I would rate it as average, not horrible, not amazing
Like another poster has said, has a very distinct smell with a very earthy aftertaste
It’s a bit ‘meh’ but worth it for the price imo
