Tap water flows through 4 filtration stages:

  • A fine mesh filter reduces particles such as sand or rust

  • Ion exchange resin reduces limescale (carbonate hardness) and certain metals such as lead and copper
  • A special fine mesh filter retains particle mixture

This is the normal price. It was £55 only for like two days before coming back down to this. Just check camel camel camel.

Just did and yes, it only went up to £55.00 so it can get discounted. This should be illegal to be honest.

Are these any good and do they remove all the things like microplastics ?

No, as it does not have a particulate filter and if anything, adds a few in. You'll need reverse osmosis or evaporation / condenser for that. I'd avoid bottled water entirely, most are PET so hormone disruptors will be present in the water. (edited)

had this for a while but annoyed at how quickly the filters go through a big family, opted in installing one i to the water sink tap and its been working amazingly

The filters are recommended to be changed each month or at every 100L I can't recall

What product did you install on the tap? (edited)

You will need to check on bottom time to time. It becomes green on the bottom. I don't know what its called. If you use frequently, it should be no issue. I bought mine on ebay few years ago for same price. I prefer this over the jug.

I got this for £30 but through a 3rd party seller with 1 filter as part of the package.

I ran out of official "Brita" filters and use waterdrop branded filters which seem just as good and cheaper.

I live in a quite hard water area so it's quite obvious the difference between the tap and filtered water

Really useful to have such a large tank to draw water from, I no longer buy bottled and always refill through it. My household drain the tank about once every 2 days

Would I recommend? Absolutely. Just be mindful that it's a large tank, if you live alone you might be better off with a smaller jug. Don't be discouraged by having to buy filters as they are recommended to be switched each month (edited)
