I was looking for a doorbell which specifically has the capability to record to NAS devices (which most doorbells do not do) and came across this model.

Seems a good deal, can't find it cheaper anywhere else.

I just installed two in past few days one at my house and one at daughters. I got away on making a 8mm hole in the door frame and feeding the wire with two connectors through, I taped it to some garden wire. Very easy to install. I got two samsung 256gb cards (edited)

I'm very anti-subscription where I can help it, so Ring was out of the question for me - I currently have the Eufy 2k doorbell which is very good, but I cannot connect it to my NAS for continuous recording.

This one, from what I can see, matches the Eufy model and can connect to my NAS for continuous recording - hopefully it ticks most, if not all, my boxes.

I understand it can record on NVRs but not directly to NAS?

I've been looking at this doorbell too although I purchased ring doorbell Pro 2 last week. Ring doorbell gets quite warm and would require subscription after a month.
Any thoughts on this doorbell in terms of picture quality and notification lag?

I have this version and replaced a Blink doorbell with it. I’d been waiting for Reolink to release this version, as I’ve had their 8 camera system for a number of years, and this just filled the last available slot on my NVR.

The picture quality is as good as the rest of the cameras (when viewed on an iPhone, anyway) and there is no lag (or not enough to be noticeable). I can’t comment on how it would run in a different setup, but up until now, I can’t find any real faults with it.

    Hope that helps. 🏻

Can anyone recommend a good power transformer for this bell that can be hidden away in wall cavity or looks good mounted on wall? (edited)

    there's a Q&A which states that a power adapter/cable is included

I guess its doesn't really look like a great deal compared to other video doorbells. People don't realise how much they will save without a subscription!

At £90, it's the cheapest it's ever been, but whilst the brand is known for good quality camera's, it's not typically associated with doorbells like some of the big brands like Ring, so perhaps it's jut an awareness thing?

These look really good - but I think to store footage locally you need to buy a Reolink NAS.
Great if you're already invested in the ecosystem I guess - but quite a lot to spend otherwise unless you wanted a proper CCTV system anyway... which I kind of DO.... (+ then you need to know about ladders and drilling holes and where to run cables and stuff.. which seems somewhat daunting to me, and has probably put me off more than the cost!) (edited)

Check comments from OP above, it can record onto a local NAS, NVR or SD card

    How are you finding it?

I installed it at the weekend, it's great but does have it's flaws. The main gripe for me at the moment is that when you click a person detection notification, it takes you straight to the live view. With other doorbells I've had (Ring, Eufy), tapping the notification opened the recording from the moment the detection was detected.

Also, rich notifications are only available if you subscribe to one of their plans.

Probably minor things in the grand scheme of things, but certainly things I became accustomed too!

The capability to record to a NAS is however great.

Do you have a subscription active?

I'd report that motion notification issue to them to see what they say (hopefully they fix it before I order mine )

Any way to have these work with existing hardwired chimes?

That is, without a smart relay or some such?
