Had Emma was OK to start with the started to dip returned got refund. Went for Simba now 2 years in doing the same. Please do proper research most of the reviews you read are ones written when the mattresses are fairly new. Just don't expect long term use out of them, I'm about to make claim for Simba major dip and when the other person not in bed feels like your rolling out. Very uncomfortable now getting back pain. I'm going traditional next time memory foam bad news even hybrid. Google Emma or Simba complaints sagging etc

I 2nd this comment. Will not buy Simba again. Couple of years in and needs replacing.

Be careful buying from Wowcher . This was on "Wowcher (aka Livingsocial) Fraud" facebook group.

I'd imagine a section 75 claim would be in order so I'd definitely use a credit card

    DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM WOWCHER!
  4. F1clio's avatar
By purchasing the voucher through a 3rd party, I would assume that you then lose out on the 200 night trial, because you have purchased using a voucher, so if anything you may receive Wowcher credit back.

All these recent matress companies claiming to be a special product with benefits you've never seen before are just pocket sprung matresses or blocks of foam, nothing different to any other brand apart from they have limited manufacturing experience compared to a company thats been making them 50 years.
If you want something different go buy from jay-be who are manufacturing in the uk using recycled bottles/materials, i have the 2000 pocket spring version which is great and has 5 years warranty (edited)
    9etrader's avatar
Thanks ; i had not heard of Jay-be before ; being recommended by which ? says a lot ; will research further but seems i have at least found a decent brand (without the modern marketing excess gimmiky speak from Emma / Simba which seems to have quality issues)

Don't know about anyone else but we purchased an EMMA mattress and although comfortable it made me sweat to the point i was absolutely wet through in the night. I didn't know it was the mattress at first and went to the doctors for tests etc but everything was normal then realised the problem started when we first used the mattress. Returned to a conventional one and the problem was resolved immediately. Just thought i would put this out in case anyone else was having the same issue.
    C0mbat's avatar
Yep. That's why their new one comes with a different initial layer of foam. It's graphite or graphene infused. I'm not sure if this allows you to buy the next gen hybrid? (edited)

Given that it’s now being sold on Wowcher is there anything to suggest this is an inferior product to brands such as Simba etc?

The mattress market is like double glazed windows in terms of all suppliers claiming their brands own unique benefits.

I did wonder this myself. I contacted Emma myself just to check it was all legit. They just said that wowcher was one of their approved channels basically, like Amazon etc. They confirmed the guarantee / trial still applies. You are in fact still purchasing from Emma, basically just buying a gift voucher through wowcher.

Seperately, I looked at a lot of reviews. Although there are a lot of "paid for" reviews, the once that I classed as obviously genuine were still very positive. And my experience has validated this

I really appreciate OP posting this as I feel like the feedback has been valuable. On reflection I've opted to buy another Pro Hybrid mattress direct from Vesgantti. We bought one for my son following a recommendation by someone on here and have found the experience and product very positive.

I'm sure others may come out with quite the opposite but ultimately I'd never buy anything if I waited on 100% positive feedback
    Ihfaz's avatar
I've bought quite a number of mattresses in a box from the likes of Eve, Emma, Simba. The Vesgantti I got off Amazon in December is nowhere near the quality of the others - it's cheap, and does the job, but you can tell and it does not support you in the right places. Would massively recommend spending extra and getting an eve hybrid or anything from Emma.

From the research I've done from the dip comments other day it seems to be you want one with a load of springs - this should prevent sag I believe.

This is old stock as Emma now do a nextgen version, which I'm guessing addressed the sagging complaint. Only a few months since it was released
    Megamind123's avatar
Why even trust a dodgy brand which can shut shop any second and not care of the guarantee?

    Hi guys
I older it 4 days ago and as you can see it arrived
I saw some comments that wowcher.co.uk can be a
50804054-i7WO8.jpglittle bit sticky, so for some of you, that is still thinking of having it. I'll say go ahead
  11. dwattsy21's avatar

I can't see the button to edit my deal to correct my spelling mistakes, and confirm that contrary to the sticky note above... I was not charged a Wowcher admin fee
  12. blackrat62's avatar
I can only caution on my experience - after 2-weeks they marked as despatched then later delivered (not true). When I queried they said they had an "experienced anomaly" which meant they hadn't even sent it. Not honest and never getting my money regardless of product quality.
  13. wanderer_forest's avatar
Why does the product page say "Emma Certified"?

That suggests it's a return or repaired item.
    bigtom's avatar
Not sure on the certified but they have a separate listing on wowcher for refurbished ones where it clearly states that.
  14. villageidiotdan's avatar
Thanks OP, how do you find the mattress please? Quite firm?
    dwattsy21's avatar
    Author
You're welcome. Yea, I would day quite firm is the right description. It's not rock solid, but I'm certainly not squeezing it down much when I lay on it. I prefer a mattress more on the firm side and this is just right for me. Plus they have a 90 day or 6 month or something trial, so if not happy you could send back (although you'd probably then just have a lot to spend on wowcher as your refund!)
  15. bigtom's avatar
Funnily enough I spotted this yesterday and was planning on purchasing today. Possibly 7% TCB as well? Not sure if it'll work with the code though.

Been going mad looking at all the mattress sales on at the minute, figured it's impossible to choose and I might as well just go with the best discount (edited)
    Megamind123's avatar
They re always on sale. Mattress business is a scam.
  16. M_KoQC's avatar
Is the Emma Premium a discounted model?

It's no longer o their website...
    bigtom's avatar
Still on the website here - emma-sleep.co.uk/emm…um/

But does appear to have been superceded by the 'Nextgen' version.
  17. Ducklinggg's avatar
Does anyone know whether the 10% discount code for newsletter sign up stack with this code?
  18. youngchap's avatar
Is this good compared to others on offer on HotUKDeals? Is this worth going mad for? Looking for a good quality good price mattress

After a lot of looking around this is what I went for. Very happy with it, for this money I'm not sure it can be beaten
  19. WiktorSebastianSzota's avatar
Aaaa i, just bought without the 15%, code
    ipswich78's avatar
I wouldn’t worry. You’ll be in a better position if you decide to return it.
  20. djjibran's avatar
Emma Certified? does this mean that they are not new?
  21. C0mbat's avatar
Any idea if this works with the next gen hybrid? Or just the older version?
    villageidiotdan's avatar
Just the older that I can see

I ordered in early of July. Still not received…. emma keeps asking to wait..
    dwattsy21's avatar
    Author
I ordered late July and mine arrived in about 2 weeks. That's the worst thing about this deal though, the uncertainty of the delivery. I kept emailing them and it's just default responses "waiting for stock, can't advise when". Last time I emailed, 10 mins later I got a despatch notification so I doubt they even check.

If you need this in the next few weeks urgently, I'd look elsewhere
  23. FCrux's avatar
Umm can someone help pls. I added the mattress to basket on WOWCHER website, added the code to get 15% off .. paid and then redeemed the wowcher on another page via WOWCHER email link and then paid for the delivery.

In the whole process above as mentioned by op I didn’t go to Emma website to order the mattress.. am I doing anything wrong? I’ve never used WOWCHER before so not sure about redeeming etc.. please help.
And thanks for the post I was in need of one..
    dwattsy21's avatar
    Author
Yea that sounds about right. I can't remember 100% but the way it works is you redeem it through wowcher. They will then send a bulk of orders to Emma once or twice a week (I know this as I chased Emma straight away and for a few days they said they hadn't received the order). You will have an email with a link to a status tracker, in a few days it will change to processed or something
  24. buff's avatar
    Very firm
  25. rrr99gp's avatar
It's utter crap, Starts sagging after a week or so of use and their customer service is diabolical. Don't bother. "Dormeo" ones are far far superior and longer lasting i'm told but I just ended up buying a cheap Amazon foam one.
  26. Th3.Ripper's avatar
Had the premium Emma king size for over a year and can happily say it is unbelievably comfy
    kingosticks's avatar
Conversely I find it extremely uncomfortable, much too firm for me. It's very much personal preference.
  27. jagriffo's avatar
Be careful when ordering reduced premium mattresses on Emma. I ordered one for this price a few weeks back, it came and was labelled premium on the box but then standard on the wrapping. I unzipped it and it was the standard, they sent a premium and collected the standard. Not good practice fooling customers like that, it wasn't just me it happened to either. I think they oversold and sent standard and thought people wouldn't notice, wouldn't surprise me.
    Deccydoda's avatar
How could you tell it was the standard, as someone that's had one a few weeks I want to know if I was conned
  28. Little_Casper's avatar
I think I'd just go to IKEA tbh, I don't trust these companies after all the years of crazy growth; I doubt many of them are making a profit and most are just backed up by investors.
    haggisheid's avatar
Well, I thought the same way and posted a deal on an IKEA mattress a few days ago and it went totally negative, so obviously the majority want to buy online, I would too if it wasn't so hot and miss with deliveries and guarantees.
  29. stevos9's avatar
Would anyone recommend buying travelodge or holiday inn mattresses, I've always had a good sleep on them and they must get some hammer might be worth a shot? (edited)
    Mcartwright1989's avatar
I bought a premier inn mattress after using a Simba mattress for around 4 years. I could never go back to these memory foam ones they're fairly reasonably priced and at first super comfortable initially but after a couple of years I couldn't stand it and it also makes sleeping on your front very uncomfortable. The Premier Inn Mattress was more expensive but much much better IMO.

Wish i noticed this when king size was still in stock...
On a separate note i sweat quite a lot. My partner has had a memory foam mattress before and swears by it whilst ive heard that they can get very warm. Any opinions/knowledge on this?
  33. mayur12's avatar
Are these new or refurbished? Just spoke to online chat at Emma's and they said... These could be refurbished or/and returned mattress..
