This is where AMD's choice to go 'pinless' pays dividends. It is near impossible for a punter to mess up their Zen4 CPU physically. Second hand from a reliable source is thus not an issue.

BUT I would suggest by now, Zen4 is too late for ordinary PC punters to consider anything but the value 7600. Zen5 is coming, and it is a REVOLUTION. As bad as AMD is currently doing with current gen desktop graphics, AMD is killing it in future Zen design. Zen 4 is OK, but most options are way too expensive given how soon Zen5 will make it look very sad. AND Zen5 is so very bad for Intel, Intel has no choice but to price war against AMD in 2024 = good prices.

The only thing we don't know is if they've been ran at the incorrect high voltages and caused degradation or damage... I'm still tempted at this price though - I'd bought the 7900x for £330 back in April

Overvolted, then stolen by a burglar, before finally being flogged on Cex. Poor CPU.

If you're purely a gamer, spend another £10 on the 7800X3D from CeX, it's a better performer for gaming.

If you do a bit of gaming AND productivity, it's a good CPU.

If you don't game THAT much and just want a CPU mainly for productivity, they sell the 7900X for £325.
It's still a capable gaming CPU, just doesn't match the 3D's. (edited)

    I notice doesn't mention wattage

Power efficiency on these 120W CPU's is great even at stock voltages and with PBO enabled and undervloted (tends to be good on all the Zen4 3D CPU's). (edited)
