What's the camera like on these? Also until what date will the security patches be issued for?
    Chz's avatar
Relatively speaking to other phones, the camera is not very good.

However, "not very good" in 2023 is perfectly acceptable outdoors or in bright light. It's a bit rubbish in dim light. If that's good enough for you, you'll think it's fine. Most cheaper phones don't have a great camera - best thing for that right now is the Note 12 Pro, which has a good 50MP main shooter with OIS. The OIS is very rare in that price range. So if you've used anything not-flagship in the past and thought it was good enough, you'll be happy.

STILL running my 4 year old poco F1 , replaced the battery and its still absolutely fine!!
    Zek's avatar
How did you replace the battery?

In the process of upgrading from a Poco f2 pro. Ordered this but ended up returning it and getting a refurbished oppo find x5 in mint condition for £230 instead. The poor reviews about the cameras, speakers, brightness sensor, network signal and miui bugs put me off. Loved my f2 pro, but the charger, charging port and front camera all failed

"Operating System MIUI 14 for POCO"

How much different will this be to normal systems. What can't you do or have to do differently

They seem to get a good rep otherwise
    Iesty83's avatar
    only word of caution.

I bought the X5 Pro 5G, it has MIUI 14, but is only on Android 12. Its only going to be getting 13 in the next 6 months, when other brands may be on Android 14 by then

the Samsung A52 i upgraded from (a 2 yr old phone) was on 13.

which phone would you recommend, this, one plus or the nothing phone. The google pixel phones don't compare well in terms of hardware to any of the above? I have poco f2 at the moment and the fingure sensor has stopped working otherwise it has been a slid phone.
    MrSwitch's avatar
Oneplus 11 I'd choose out of the three personally, of course the pixels have better cameras, but all rounder would be OP for me
  6. Mook39's avatar
Amazing phone for the money typing on it now if you can sell your old phone it's a great upgrade
    Lower_for_Longer's avatar
How does the 1+ 7pro compare
  7. Zek's avatar
Tempting, on a F3 now. I think they would give me £102 for my F3 in the trade in, looked on eBay and the 256GB go for more but 128GB like I have are around £100
  8. moomassey's avatar
What about this compared to the Pixel 7 then?
    Crossbow's avatar
Compares well in many areas gsmarena.com/com…258, but the cameras won't be as good as the Pixel 7.
Also lacking in comparison will be...
    - Length of software updates & support - probably at most 2 years on this with no guarantees, while the P7 is guaranteed to be supported with Android version updates unitl October 2025 & security updates until October 2027.
    - MIUI skin which is Marmite in nature (also slower & glitchier) vs pure Android
    - Lack of wireless charging
  9. JimmyBobby's avatar
How's the Poco x3 pro compared to this?
    Crossbow's avatar
The F5 is better in many ways gsmarena.com/com…258, but not much of an improvement on the cameras, does have OIS on the main camera though. (edited)
  10. Joe90_guy's avatar
A bit tempted but like others, I'm finding my F3 continues to do everything I want, so I'm going to pass. Voted hot though...
    chancooluk's avatar
Same here. Holding onto it for at least another year, or until the battery can't hold a charge.
  11. AAddict's avatar
Same as everyone else, my F3 is perfect still. This is the problem in the phone market, nothing has really improved for years
  12. losername's avatar
So tempted... My F3 is still awesome, but the want-ometer is running hot now

    Voted accordingly
    Yasir2010's avatar
Is there much difference between the 2? Specs look pretty similar

Only available in black now. Thanks for the deal. I tried to stack a coupon I made from my points but it wasn't allowed. Just use the code seems to be the best deal.
  15. Rabbittus's avatar
Voted hot and tempted, but losing the mSD slot and water resistance of my A52S. Will wait until next year and see what's out there.
  16. formsm2000comp's avatar
12GB ram for under £400. Xiaomi value for money excellent again.
  17. Dan_425's avatar
I've got a poco x3 I'm replacing. Worst phone I've ever owned. Definitely will never buy a Xiaomi again. Horrifying buggy unuser freindly rubbish
    Uzy's avatar
    Should try a Custom ROM
  18. kieran77777's avatar
This looks like a great phone but my Poco f3 is as fast as the day I bought it 2 years ago!
  19. sjr88's avatar
Tempted... my XS Max is on it's way out but can't decide what phone
    Crossbow's avatar
Have you always used Apple phones?
This compares well in many areas, however I've touched on some of the downsides here hotukdeals.com/com…170 - cameras will be noticeably poorer.
  20. punjabputer's avatar
Still have the f2 pro which is running strong..no updates though since Feb 2023
  21. Eye-Will's avatar
Loved my Poco F1, love my F3, so tempted but just got HUKDealed and ordered the Sony XM1000XM4's, I'm trying to restrain myself and if I can't I think the credit card company will do it for my, I'm sure I maxed out.
    Heat added.

Get the pro for almost this much from aliexpress
  23. KaraSevda's avatar
Recently bought this phone for £343. No problems after a few days usage. Everything seems working fine. 67w charging donot feel faster though. Samsung S23ultra with 45w cahrger takes the same time as this one.
    mr_hercules's avatar
Is there a difference in battery capacity between the F5 and the S23?
  24. RichHuish's avatar
I love my Poco F3, bought it second hand on FB marketplace for £130 3weeks ago after my Note 20 Ultra 5G's screen went totally black for the 2nd time in its lifetime, this time out of warranty by a few months. The Note cost me not a million miles off two grand! Will never go back! This Poco is just as good if not better!
    mgk's avatar
Was the Note purchase before.ypu discovered this website
  25. hugekebab's avatar
Love mine. Only criticism is auto brightness doesn't always get the best brightness setting. Great phone.
    otherparty's avatar
    Same issue with my F4.
  26. Patrick_Gana's avatar
Does POCO mobile phones record phone calls. What other Xiaomi mobile phones record phone calls.
    lehaandreev's avatar
You need to instal firmware from Taiwan, can do on any Poco. There are guides in YouTube how to do it as it is not 1 click. . It has miui caller software with call recording feature. Without any notifications (edited)
  27. iwantsomecheapstuff's avatar
Do all Poco phones come with ads everywhere? Bought my mum a Poco X3 I think, Xiaimi have ads literally everywhere
    jazzman466's avatar
You can turn the ads off. Can't remember the exact process but there are several settings to change deep in the menus

    google.com/sea…F-8 (edited)

code already in account the coupon says
  29. Number3's avatar
There's another deal for this from Poco AliExpress. How come this deal is so much more popular despite the higher price. Is it just all the potential customs faff, EU charger and potential warranty difficulties putting people off? Slower delivery too I imagine on the import? (edited)
    lehaandreev's avatar
Wonders oh hukd. I am typing this from f5 pro with double the memory and literally paid 20 quid more than this on AliExpress. That deal for a better phone did not get nearly as much heat as this
