Anything Ring is useless if you use a VPN on your phone as they block connections from anybody using VPN so you won’t receive alerts while VPN active.

It sounds like a setup issue for your VPN provider

I use NordVPN and my own (based off home router) and have no issues.

Why do we need indoor cams in our homes?
    DreadPirateRoberts2013's avatar
Some people use them to monitor their pets whilst out of home.
Some people use them to check if devices are still left on.
Some people use them as CCTV, in case of burglaries.
Some people use them in non-home environments.

Just because you can't think of a reason, doesn't mean there is no reason. (edited)

Cameras themselves are good with decent optics and clarity but Ring virtually makes a subscription a necessity unless you only use Live View - which means maybe something else like the Tapo or Yi cameras are better if you don't want to pay for a sub but still want the advanced features.

Yi is horrible now check recent app reviews.

Is it worth buying Certified Refurbished Ring product from Amazon pls? I'm thinking of getting the Ring Doorbell 4, just not sure if they will look just like brand new??

    Many thanks!

I’ve bought a ring camera certified refurbished and two brand new. Couldn’t even tell the refurbished from the new, though it’s a bit of a luck of the draw. Easy returns if you’re not happy with it regardless
