sorted byI am looking to build a flight-sim 'rig' as a project by/with my 12-year-old son who already has a powerful PC, good monitor and VR headset. Obviously the high-end stuff can be thousands of pounds, but we are propably looking at a budget of £1k for the controls etc. Much of the fun is doing the build and learning about the kit, so it would be good to find people who could point us in the right direction. Thanks.
For those looking at fold-up alternatives I've been using the Playseat Challenge for about 5 years. My mate picked one up second hand on FB marketplace recently for £100 and it was in very good condition.
Far too much flex on both the pedal mount and wheel mount with higher end gear.
I do have one of these with a Fanatec CSW v2.5 base and the CSL Load cell pedals. But I've had to modify the absolute life out of it to make it sturdy. (edited)
