At a random guess this is going to be postcode dependant and for this price only available to premises with a CityFibre fibre service in their street.

Where you get a non-symmetric and more expensive quote Voda can provide you service but over Openreach fibre. (edited)

    Yip. The postcode lottery.

12 months into a 24month vodafone broadband contract . I have the top package .
    - router is poor , locks out if u don't reset it properly
    - never had the speed advertised & pay for

    - don't get me wrong it's OK, but previous to my vodafone contract I was with bt with a lower speed package . Never had any issues.

    If you're expecting 900mb , & great range .... i'd tell u to rethink (edited)

No one is buying 900mbps package and using an ISP router. I have 900mbps with Voda on my own routers and it exceeds 900mbps at all times, and never gone down.

I can't recommend Vodafone. They have stitched me over on two separate contracts. That last one, they left it running, even when I asked to cancel it within the cooling off period. I was told it was cancelled, it wasn't, and the payment was attempted again, ruining my credit. Vodafone customer service is terrible.

You can have your credit score amended I'm sure if you complain about it

Everyone will have a different experience but I went to Vodafone from Plusnet where i'd never had a problem before. With Vodafone the speed was up and down all the time. Speed checker was all over the place. loads of problems. Gone back to Plusnet after my contract finished this week and the speed is higher and completley stable.

I’m betting it was their router. I’d the same experience and a new, non Vodafone, fixed it.

I was thinking of going with Vodafone but was not getting the price. In the end, I placed an order with Aquiss who currently have a 6 month half price deal.

Never full speed,,I got Vodafone broadband,,half speed maximum...

Maybe for your network setup, but I get the full 920Mbs,100% off the time.

I tried to get a deal with Vodafone like this and I already use another city fibre company but cant get Vodafone? (edited)

Same here. Talktalk also says no

Shows as £42 a month for me..not sure why.
    glancy's avatar
prob because the deal will be based on cityfibre and you are prob in an openreach fibre area

Vodafone are completely and utterly incompetent but they have a great product if you put a bit of effort in acquiring an ultra hub ii and boosters from ebay
    plunet's avatar
You don't need to use their router, but you do need to chat or call support to get your login details. If considering your own kit, on Cityfibre your WAN port needs to support VLANs, on OpenReach no WAN VLAN support is needed.

I took a similar vodafone deal a few years ago and did not get the gift card.

I complained multiple times and kept getting passed between vodafone cs and the promotion company.

I gave up in the end. YMMV

These best deals are CityFibre only. Though I decided to have a look for my Openreach full fibre where some constrain to 330, some sell up to the 900. Vodafone are usually part of the former, normally offering a max of 200, but this time they will only sell the 73Mbps plan!

I'm a bit wary of the Topcashback compare, which goes through a completely different company to TCB. From a Sky deal, I did get the voucher, but 11 months on I am still waiting for the cashback. When looking at the TCB reviews, I'm not the only one to find them not paying out. This CityFibre Vodafone deal as posted for those eligible is very good even without TCB Compare, so the £56 should be considered as a bonus and not guaranteed with more pessimism than usual TCB.

Does Vodafone pay as yo go count to get it to £22? Tia

I've been with VF broadband coming up to a month now. Even when giving a month's notification for the switch date, they still managed to mess it up and was delayed by nearly a week. The online support is pretty poor and based out of India. Even after the switch, our phone line didn't work until a week after. We could dial out but would get a dead line when trying to dial in.

The fiber service though is dead on what we're paying for. Have tested at different times of the day using different sites. We have FttP and then VF dial it back to the price/service I'm paying for.

I am getting 900mb at £40 also, I am in an OpenReach area.
My contract with Virgin Media ends on 21st August after I put my notice of disconnection in a few weeks ago, I haven't had a single call from the outbound retention team from Virgin, bloody useless they are.

Last year Virgin Media had absolutely no competition as OpenReach were only limited to max-60mb in this area, but it's finally being upgraded so they are directly competitive now to Virgin...

I went to sign up to Voda, but right at the very end (Credit check) they have stonewalled me! I'm a renter - I moved in to the property in October 2020, but because I don't have 3 years history at this rented address, they won't accept my BANK CARD details because it's not registered to my old-home address from 2020!

    Farce. (edited)

Why do some areas get this so cheap?

    £42 for me.
50806570-LcGFX.jpg//Edit seems Cityfibre areas only for the £29 price. Why cant Openreach reduce prices to compete.. (edited)
    plunet's avatar
Openreach pricing is controlled by OFCOM, because if they were to reduce price much lower it would likely put several altnets out of business.

Would anyone recommend this deal as there are mixed reviews?
    william_humphries's avatar
I've had it for around a year, got it at £27 pm. Was put off myself by the reviews but touch wood I've had no issues, install went fine as planned and I even take the backup SIM on holiday in UK to use as a hotspot. Only time I contact customer services was when I didn't get my free voucher for a fire stick and echo, ended up knocking £100 off my bill then I got the voucher a week later!

I cannot get anything apparently yet I can get full fibre 900 from the likes of Sky

    Different infrastructure.

Can I get this deal if I'm already on this exact package but out of contract?
    Grant_C's avatar
I dont know but in my experience with other providers you will have to give your 30 day notice and then resign up. I just did this with talktalk thinking I was being clever but it turned out to be 2 months of hell.
  19. giannisdkgr's avatar
Before taking the ''deal'' with vodafone check if there is fiber available in your area. They have sold me similar deal last year and then blamed the ''landlord'' that didn't accepted the instalation of the fibre in my area. One of the sites to check the fiber availability in the area is
    checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-…age
Insert your postcode and then press ''set postcode''
At the bottom of the page you will find what companies are in the area that supply fiber.
The price is good for the speeds tha they offer, but you don't want to end up dissapointed when you will find out that there is no fibre at your property since the fibre supplier is not vodafone, they are just ''renting'' the lines from others like cityfibre, openreach and others.

I signed up to this recently, my go live date was the 10th Aug. I can say im pretty happy with the speeds.

Annoyingly I placed my order through TCB on the Sunday. I then started getting phone calls from Vodafone yesterday. Turns out there was a problem with their internal systems which prevented the order from being completed, even though I got a confirmation of order email.

They've re-ordered for me, but it means I've lost out on the £40 voucher & £56 cashback. V v annoying.
