Eufy's own solar charger for their cameras is now £29.99 with code. Of course you may want to spend less on the 3rd party panels, but there are questions over their reliability and you don't get the waterproofing for the usb port. Yer pays yer money etc...

But the cheapest it's been for a while (usually discounted to £35)

I got 4 of these for my battery powered ie geek cameras and i can confirm they are brilliant my cameras always have 100% battery these even charge when its cloudy. The 15.99 ezviz 1s is what i got i did have to buy some micro usb to usb c converter plugs but was only a couple of quid for a pack of 4 on amazon. (edited)

Thanks OP, I have had no problem with third party panels . Its varys but usual they are half that price on ebay, then spend the difference on a security housing with noddy chain to cover the camera.

Ah chance you can drop some links for the casing and chain please.

Some of my cameras have the old style connector and the newer ones usb c. Is there an adapter so it can work on either? (edited)

Stupid question, potentially, but do these work through windows for indoor use?

As long as sunlight gets through...yes. Probably doesn't work as well as outdoors though

Will this work with the eufy doorbell?

You'd have to hardwire it, and there's no guarantee it would work anyway. Shame as you can get solar chargers for Ring doorbells

Do these come with a waterproof 'shroud' to go over the connector ?

Is there any way of shortening the cable ?
    thinwhiteduke's avatar

Yes, it comes with a waterproof gasket. You could shorten the cable the same way you shorten any other USB cable, I guess, but it has a bracket on the back of the panel that lets you wind up any excess.

I use a long micro usb cable and have it run in to my loft. Then when running low I just open the loft door and plug in a power bank for a few hours. I'd thought about these solar panels but price and having them mounted on the house made me think again.
