About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Saw this at the John Lewis Home Outlet earlier and might interest someone. Quite a hefty saving. I await the ‘I could build a PC with that spec for £400’ replies but this really isn’t the same thing.

sorted byI can already see Apple's hardware limit. Nothing is upgradable internally!***
Here's something that's far cheaper and out paces the M1 Ultra Desktop PC.
Below components are from Amazon, of course everything can be tweaked for faster components to the tune of £2799.
The deal I put together quickly is less than £1900.

***Some people have found a workaround, using DFU and not guaranteed.
Too much work just to do a simple SSD upgrade / add more internal storage.
But realistically I think someone spending this sort of dosh on a Mac Studio knows exactly why they’re buying it, over a higher-spec-on-paper PC.
These Mac Studios are aimed at professionals. They’re efficient, quiet, quick, compact computers. Apple’s OS and ecosystem is almost essential in many industries. And Apple Silicon isn’t magic, but it is quite remarkable.

P.S. Totally agree that it’s ecologically disgraceful to prevent devices from being upgraded (although having spent years with a dodgy replacement iPhone screen, I do have a bit of sympathy the ‘quality control’ argument).
