Cannon Fodder 2

Don't wait till you see the whites of their eyes...
Don't kid yourself it will be over by Christmas...
Don't try to shut out the screams...
And don't forget to wash your hands afterwards...

From a queue of some 360 "eager" conscripts waiting to go to war, a team of up to six will "volunteer" for each new mission. Encourage your soldiers to shoot anything that moves, throw grenades, fire bazookas, drive tanks, fly choppers, split up and do their own thing... and die... Guide your no-hoper's troop straight through deadly missions. And if you lose some of them? There's more where that came from...

Action-driven, fast-paced classic arcade gameplay

A mix of tactical insight and fast reflexes required, a good micro would be a plus

War has never been so much fun!

It was a great game when it came out, that is 1993. How good is it now? I'd say just for the soundtrack it's worth 1.19 pound.

I bought the first one on the previous deal. After playing it for a bit, I got a few emulators and compared the various versions. This version is much faster and more acceptable than the lagginess of old but it DOES NOT include the full version of the well known title music. Apparently, only the Amiga version could allow processing the sounds for the human voice singing the lyrics but this is the DOS version which doesn't. Don't know why they couldn't have somehow engineered it in for this updated version but then again, I'm no programmer!

It's still worth it though. It was still horribly slow and outdated on the Amiga emulator I tried.

Some of the later levels in the first one are pretty brutal.
