Seeing them live in the 80s was one if the best mudicsl experiences of my life. Hope you enjoy this album in great quality. I have some original albums and 12" singles I must find s good home for.

Sadly never got to see them live but the Montreux 86 concert on YouTube is brilliant

Easily in my top 10 of albums ever made.

The sad and untimely demise of Mark Hollis was a terrible loss.

    Thank you - just purchased

Coincidentally I heard this album for the first time last week as part of the 1001 Album Generator app and I love it

Definitely ‘up there’ for sure. Sounds as fresh now as groundbreaking then.  They peaked with this one. The later albums (and I have them all) were increasingly self-indulgent meandering experiments/sound collages that got the critics all-afroth, but left me increasingly cold. But the tunes are rock solid here. Timeless.

They should have stuck to making music, I had their broadband a few years ago it was garbage.

Can't argue with anything said here. I still have the cassette which I bought when this album was released. Was a bit sophisticated for a 16yo boy but I knew it was great at the time and time has been very kind to this wonderful work.
