It's not a bad price for 2tb, but no DRAM cache, and crucial are getting a bit of a rep for changing hardware revisions. There are at least 5 known variants of this, 3 with TLC and 2 with QLC, varying controllers etc. This means it's really hard to rely on any reviews, for example this one refers to TLC, so you can't really go by the performance numbers because you don't know if you might be getting a slower QLC drive, or maybe controller revision.

Here's the known variants. I'd say it's fine as a game drive, should read fine, wouldn't use it for video editing or something where it gets written to a lot.

Looking for a 2tb SSD for my son's PS4, can anyone recommend this or a suitable alternative? I'm really not up to speed with the different technologies in SSD drives!

One thing to note that the PS4, and PS4 Pro, doesn't truly take full advantage of an SSD over the SATA connection for various reasons. You WILL get better load times for many games though, so it's still worth it, especially now since prices are so low compared to when the PS4 first came out.

So with that said, go with one that has decent reviews/recognisable brand and what you're happy to pay for. No need to go with the more expensive 2.5" SSD options at all. Hope that helps a bit, Target around £35-£45 for a 1TB capacity and £65 to £80(at most) and you should be good!
