    Yes.

    With external HDDs, 'portable' means it doesn't, 'desktop' means it does.

    Some of the bigger drives have a price drop also. Hopefully the prices will be a bit lower for black Friday etc as I could do with a few. As it stands this is a reasonable price. I have no experience with the 8TB however if you plan to shuck this you may need to 'blank out' a few pins on the connector for it to work.

    Shucked 2 of the 20 TB and Synology had no problems reading it.

    This is a decent price for an 8 TB and think the voting down a bit unfair. I can only think that most people are looking for drives double this capacity. I'll vote up even though I'd not buy it as prefer another pair of 20 TBs. The 20s I got were both Data Centre drives so if the 8 TB is the same then actually quite a bargain.
