Widely internet reccomended best practice guitar amps.
Love mine, very portable and don't need to be thethered to a cable.

About this item
  • Unlike typical small, battery-powered guitar amps that offer so-so sound quality, the Katana-Mini produces big, full tone that inspires you to plug in and play for hours at a time
  • The Katana-Miniâ€s all-analogue input circuitry includes multiple gain stages that drive three classic sound settings, offering the same cascaded gain approach found in high-end amp designs
  • Great Katana tone in a highly portable amp
  • Authentic multi-stage analogue gain circuit and three-band analogue tone stack
  • Aux input for jamming with music from a smartphone
  • Built-in tape-style delay for warm ambience
  • Runs on six AA-size batteries or optional AC adapter

Got to think that amp is one step from perfection. Instead of 6 batteries just have a rechargeable battery. I have a Donner mini amp and that has a rechargeable battery within.

couldn't agree more ... really weird choice but I assume it's too keep cost down? I'd be happy to pay an extra 20 for rechargable battery though.

The Boss Duel Cube amp has just taken a discount too for anyone in the market - the cheapest price is £171 from GAK on ebay with a code

Just tried this along the one posted. Miles apart in Quality. Just a shame you can't connect either to the boss tone studio

I have this and love it, its even better when we have a power cut and I revert to batteries and backing tracks from my phone (I have the power adapter too for daily use) as it really winds the wife up who thinks "great no power, no noise". Best in my book, seen other reviews but they all seem biased especially the Positive Grid Go ones.

The batteries on the blackstar fly I used to have used to last for ages ..don't know if this would be similar

Could always buy rechargeables for it

Hi, I’m looking at a practice/small amp for an acoustic electric? Would this be good for the money or would someone recommend something else (seems to be £73 at quite a lot of places). Thanks (edited)

What do you want to achieve? Why do you need to amplify an acoustic guitar for practice?

This is one of the best sounding tiny amps i've ever used!

This is intriguing to me, Ive never used a small amp like this before. I'm interested in some of the amp modelling smaller models, is this comparable?

    Cheers

If you want amp modelling you'll have to look elsewhere, as this doesn't have any as such. More three channels of clean, crunch & driven.

Maybe have a look at a used Roland Micro Cube. (edited)

Would the aux input allow for headphones? Or Bluetooth device to plug in and get playback through ear buds?
    rbz5416's avatar
There's a headphone output next to the aux in.

Presume this doesn't come with the AC adapter? What would be a good starter amp which runs on mains? TIA.

Is this compatible with tone studio?
