For when only Macallan will do, because you can get better for less.

It's crazy that this is only 40% abv and they charge this

    The abv police are ridiculous.
Special brew is better than Stella by that thinking

TBF, Macallan used to be my favourite malt, however when they stopped selling the 10yr old and replaced it with the dross that was Macallan Gold it put me right off. Got excited when I started to see the 12 yr old appear on the shelves, well until I saw the price. Still haven't bought a bottle, been enjoying much more reasonably priced alternatives. Shame as I like a sherry finish, but something like Tamnavulin sherry finish is less than half the price, in fact often under £25.
And I have several bottles in the cupboard so I really don't need to be buying any more whisky.

I know its a good price, but the whisky industry is deluded.

The industry's fine, it's all the middle class posers to whom buying a bottle of this stuff is no more complex a consideration than buying a bottle of Coke that is feeding these kind of price points. If Macallan can get away with it then fair play to them!

Still poor value even at this slightly discounted price.

I enjoyed this the most out of about 10 different whiskies I've tried over recent years
