If Gatwick works for you, this is a great deal. I stayed there in March and found the hotel excellent. The food is good and plentiful, snacks all day are OK and staff very pleasant. Drinks are in small plastic glasses but you can take your own larger (plastic) and they will fill them, even pint glasses as long as they are plastic!
the old town is walkable, we did it twice and the medina is fascinating if you can resist the constant pleas of the shopkeepers to visit their shops.

Isn't this the beach where 39 people were shot to death by some terrorists? I know that doesn't mean it'll happen again but.....

I went on holiday to Tunisia when I was about 11 years old and there were guards armed with rifles hiding in the garden bushes around the perimeter. It hit about 45c during the day which made it tough to walk very far. We got a taxi and asked to be taken to a market but I think they took us to the wrong one, I remember being prodded with a stick by some local children around my age then a shopkeeper tried to exchange some camels for my mother. At night we walked to a local casino which had some kind of theatre show on, there were many children on the street begging and selling small hand crafted flower decorations which were meant to be placed around the ear. After purchasing a couple we found the children left us alone but discovered a little too late that placing the flowers behind a certain ear meant that you were single and looking for the invitation of a gentleman...

Anyway, the place might have changed or you may have better luck than I did. (edited)

Great deal, it's so challenging finding packages that include a decent baggage allowance.
