“Alexa, show me my front door”

Connect your Doorbell to Alexa or Google Assistant and check in anytime on what's happening outside your home.

I have a ring doorbell but moving home next week. I was going to get another ring. Anyone had both and can give a comparison?

Had both, prefer this although due to battery life and no subscriptions. Ring I found had better latency.

    Is this wired or wireless?

    Wired

For anyone wondering the 2k quality is perfectly sufficient

Only beef with mine is the recordings can stop before the action is complete. This can be amended by custom length recordings so I set mine at 19sec. This means the battery lasts only c. 1 month but I’d rather have footage if I need it

How much footage can be saved on the device? (Ie number of calendar days?)

My current Ring subscription allows me to view back the previous 30 days of notifications that have recorded.

Hate mine, the central unit just goes offline and online every 30s.

    The WiFi or PoE version?
  5. skydr's avatar
Remember this one is wired, so need to have an existing doorbell wire. If not, get the wireless one instead, will save you some hassle wiring this one
    jackal2k19's avatar
    Does it support PoE?

This works very well. Mine never misses a beat. Only annoying thing is that the chime is quite quiet - I can't hear it at the other end of my house. And Anker seems to have stopped making add-on chimes for this model (the normal wireless add-on chimes won't work) (edited)

If you have Alexa or google you can link to your speakers. My current set up I got echo speakers in two different floors

I have the eufy one with the homebase and it's been flawless. Instant notifications, battery lasts a couple of months, great app.

I didn't get the ring version after seeing the hassle my mate had, plus I hate subscriptions. (edited)

Slightly off topic but anybody know of a brand that doesn't charge for cloud storage?? Did see a post months back but for life of me can't remember the brand name
    Hotter's avatar
If you pay for iCloud+ already for your iPhone you can use a doorbell with “HomeKit secure video” for free cloud storage.

If looking for a doorbell which is wireless + internal storage then AOSU Ultra V8S is an option. (edited)

We bought eufy doorbell a year ago and had nothing but problems with it.
It goes offline randomly, doesn't record anything even though it's online and we even had ghost ringing.
Eufy support is amazing though so they sent us a replacement. This one works better but I would say that overall eufy is .

We have another eufy device and that one has microphone meltdowns where you hear loud screeching and nothing else. Quite annoying to deal with. (edited)

Had one for two years one month. Two year guarantee. Went absolute dead one day, no option for repair but offered me 40% a new device. Eh I'll pass thanks, not after disposable doorbells.
