May not apply to all as probably account specific.

Found whilst unsuccessfully looking for the earlier Apple TV+ deal

I believe cancellation is via phone only

Hi, if anyone has a code that they don't plan to use, could I please have it? Thanks in advance, everyone.
    MachineGunner's avatar
It's not a code that can be passed on I'm afraid, just a link in the my sky app.

I just cancelled my sky account, bill was going up from £50 to £100, called them to cancel and they offered £75
so just cancelled the tv package

I only had the full tv pack, uhd + xtra box and movies

they didnt want to budge from £75
been with them for 6 years

I had the same this week, mine went from £31pm for UHD/HD/Multiroom/Netflix and Signature… bill went upto £65pm.
Best I was offered was £47pm but as with all deals after factoring the April price increase that’ll come it’ll likely be over £50pm.
13 years between £28-£31 pm so I know they can do the price if they want to.

Let’s see what the team text or email in my 31 days cancellation period or not as the case will likely be

Where is it on the sky app I can't find it?

Mine was shown on home page of the app

Watch your bills afterward - I did this last year and Sky continued 'accidentally' charging me for the trial for months after I had cancelled.

Why’s this deal gone live and mine removed which was posted about an hour ago?
    Adam's avatar
Hi, as already mentioned, whoever uploads the post with the right information first, would be the first deal to go live.
Due to the terms and conditions not matching the offer, this original post was deleted needing more information re the expiry of the terms.
The exact same thing happened to your deal, it got placed on hold needing the additional terms.
I myself used a family member's sky log in to verify the deal / terms when I saw it on hold.

Once done and your deal went live, my team alerted us to a previous deal post that was the exact same situation. As per standard rules, whoever uploads this first with the right information would be considered the first for approval. Thanks

‘Cancel any time’ yea ok, anyone who has ever tried to leave sky , it will take about 10 phone calls and you will be bombarded with offers, junk mail and unsolicited phone calls…..

I'm probably missing something but this is a free four week trial (28 days) but they require 31 days notice to cancel?

Do I cancel three days before applying for the trial or something?!! (edited)

My sky package is due to end in November, at the moment I pay £49 for basic tv and broadband, I logged in to the app and it gave me the option to renew my contract for another 18 months, there offer was £70 and it satiated as a loyal customer for the last 5 years in that £70 they had reduced it from £80 just for me yet on the home page it says new customer can get the same deal for £48 per month, thanks for nothing sky!!!!

Sky isn't worth having. Entertainment channels are naff, sky movies naff, sports over priced. I'm cancelling come Feb, stay clear.
  15. idix's avatar
I wouldn’t ever touch these offers with a barge pole. You can’t cancel easily, instead having to do it via online chat which took me nearly an hour as their staff are so unresponsive between messages. Don’t even bother doing it by phone. There is no easy way to remove it yourself via the portal.

Worst thing is that they applied a 30 day cancellation period, so even though I cancelled before the month had ended, they charged me full price for the following month!

Can’t wait to get rid of Sky when my contract ends.

Outdated platform and pricing, they want real users they need to do £20 per month on sky stream with cinema, kids etc, add app to fire tv and apple, watch the users flood in.
    bargainbill's avatar
I'm far from convinced that stream is there as a replacement for live TV yet, but there doesn't seem to be a good reason why stream can't be an app like netflix.

I guess Sky are afraid that if users are not tied to their hardware then it makes them much easier to be poached by the competition.

be carefull with this if you have a discounted package and this then cancel the will charge you full price

this is what they will do

    1 had discount before signup
    2. add movies
3 remove movies charges full price from then on (edited)

Just phoned sky as its in my sky app but won't let me add it. Got told this is for sky q customers only not sky stream or sky glass. I did ask why its showing in my sky.... he couldn't answer me. Another frustration with sky

Thanks! I’ve only got 4 months left on my contract so went ahead and took this up given this is rolling and not a new contract.
    shakey1981's avatar
    get that in writing

As an update just got an email from Sky to click on to cancel my free trial so cant fault them for that.
Was going to have another month at £6 but didnt fancy the possible hassle of cancelling.

The amount of negative people here who suggest it’s so hard to cancel, so expensive etc…

I’ve been with Sky for 17 years. Anytime I’ve had an issue they have sorted it for me and compensated where applicable. I’ve always found their support and customer service people to be really engaging and knowledgeable.

I can honestly say I’ve never once had a problem cancelling an offer. It’s not that hard to do. Equally, I have broadband, tv, phone and mobile with them. Each year I call them and treat their teams with respect, talk to them like fellow humans and engage with them as people. They heavily discount my bill such that I get sports, line rental, Netflix, box sets for free. 6 months Apple TV for free is great. 3 months free Lionsgate. A year of discovery plus. Some fantastic shows on there. All cancelled at the end with no issue. Free cinema tickets, national trust entry etc… amazing.

Mobile - 4 lines for £19.20 total per month. Due to the data roll over from my previous £6 per month contract I have so much extra data that that basic package is perfect. I just roll data each month.

If you treat their people with respect, and learn to negotiate you can get some cracking deals as others on here have.

If you don’t like it, don’t subscribe, but stop crying about it and calling it theft and lies because you’re too incompetent to cancel or negotiate.
