Specific information about this Promotion
What's it all about?

Get 80% off variable percentage final value fees ("FVF") per listing in final value fees if the item sells and pay no insertion fee.A fixed order level fee of 30p and other fees, including any International fees, still apply.Promotion is valid for up to 100 listings on eBay.Listings must start during the promotional period.Listings can be auction-style or fixed price format. The promotion start and end dates are included in the email we send to invited sellers.Items must sell within the first listing period.Sounds good, where do I find the promotion and how do I sign up?

You can take part in the promotion on eBay.co.uk. Eligible sellers will receive an email with the RSVP link to the offer. You must opt in to the promotion by clicking on this link before any of your 100 listings start.

Anything else I need to know?

eBay charge an FVF when your item(s) sell(s). The FVF charged per order consists of: (i) a variable portion (“Variable Portion FVF”) which is calculated as a percentage of the Total Sale Amount; and (ii) a fixed portion (“Fixed Portion FVF”) for example 30p. The Total Sale Amount means the amount the buyer pays for an order, including the item price, postage, taxes and any other applicable fees.

The FVF Discount in this promotion applies to the Variable Portion FVF (net of any other discounts) in respect of the eligible items’ Total Sale Amounts. For example, if you would have been charged 12.80% on the Total Sales Amount, the 80% FVF discount will reduce this to 2.56%. The Fixed Portion FVF (e.g. 30p) will not be discounted. Therefore, the fixed charge of 30p per order will still apply.

You won't pay an insertion fee for each of the 100 listings. Listing upgrade fees will still apply and will be charged according to the eBay fees policy.

You may also be subject to International fees.

The number of listings eligible under this promotion may be less where seller restrictions apply. Click here to learn more about selling allowances.

This Promotion is open to all registered Private Sellers who (a) have been invited to take part, (b) are registered to managed payments, and (c) have actively opted in (“Eligible Sellers”). Please sign in to My eBay and view your seller standards dashboard to verify whether your account is currently meeting the standards. The seller standards dashboard is available to all sellers here.If you registered after 15 March 2011 or haven't listed any items for a while, you may have a listing allowance of 10 items per month or of £650 per month, whichever is reached first. You may be able to increase this allowance by providing additional verification. An eligible item previously scheduled to go live during the promotional period will qualify for the promotion only if you have opted in to the promotion before the listing starts. If an item that is eligible for the promotion had previously closed without a successful sale and is re-listed during the promotion period, it will form a part of the 100 listings limit of the promotion. Standard insertion fees will be charged for listing the same item for each additional category, according to the eBay fees policy.Free listings in this promotion do not count towards your monthly 1000 free listings.Your first listing period may vary and is dependent on the listing format you choose (e.g. – auction-style vs buy-it-now), the duration of the listing you choose and the listing experience you use. The first listing period will be considered to have been ended when the listing you create first renews or relists.Restrictions & exclusions

Same, got the 70% offer, but better than nothing!
  2. Sophia1993's avatar
Dumb question what is this offer exactly? So eBay takes 10%+ on every item you sell but what is this off final value fees? How much is this usually?
    Weenie.Beenie's avatar
ebay usually take 12.8% of your sale price + 30p . So if you sell something for £100, they take £13.10, obviously. This takes 80% off the main £12.80 fee, reducing it to £2.56 + 30p. (edited)

i have just started selling on ebay again after about 10 years. iv'e been accepted on this offer but can't see any confirmation within my account. will it appear under the "promotional offers" section come Friday?
    Weenie.Beenie's avatar
You never really see any confirmation, other than the page after you accept it. You just list something during the eligible period and it works automatically.

OK guys I wasn't eligible the last few times after allways being able to opt in. It was because I haven't sold anything in a while. Since the last promo I have sold three items and have another 10 plus listed and guess what l'm back in the club this time.

Try listing and selling something before the next promotion comes out!

Clicked on the 'activate now' link = "Unfortunately, you can no longer sign up for this promotional offer because it has expired." They must have put a limit on numbers?

They still do max £1, but obviously very picky who gets it. My dad does - had it last month. He hardly sells anything

Is this for existing listings as well?
    Lemon_deuce's avatar

no - you need to end the listing (if you can), accept the offer, then relist or "sell similar" once the offer period starts

do you get any promo offers from ebay direct to your inbox? check your account and the notifications in there?
  32. Judge-Jury-Executioner's avatar
Got it on two account but pointless as haven't sold a damn thing one account for around a week and the other, only a couple of items.

I honestly think if you opt in to these promos, your end up so far down the results, you are just lucky if your items are noticed and bought.

I've actually seen items the the same as mine (lower quality) sell for more money from buyers with lower feedback.

Maybe those sellers promoted their listings propelling them up the results further, but just seems odd that lower quality would sell for more.

It's a bit of a disservice for the eBay customer IMHO as they are not getting the best possible deal at times. (edited)

It also matters what you put in the title, product details and description. Works similar to websites matching your search with the best matching results

I really only use Vinted now, but this is good for selling more expensive items.

i sold lot of old house hold stuff last year. They asked me to switch to business account 12 months ago.)

I have not sold any thing in 12 months.

Even this offer works for me I cannot list as I need to switch to business account.

Not sure can they remove restriction on my account.
    gphandley's avatar
At what point did they ask you to switch to a business account? Is it x amount of revenue?
  36. superfuel's avatar
Says offer is 22nd to 25th. I've accepted the 70% offer. Are those dates above when you have to list, or when the item has to sell?
    Weenie.Beenie's avatar
When you have to list. The item then has to sell within the first 30 days listing to be elegible. If you continue the listing beyond that via auto relist and it sells, back to full fees. (edited)
  37. marcosscriven's avatar
How is eBay for selling expensive electronics these days? I have a GPU and monitor to sell, but been burned by buyers telling porky pies and returning a different thing.
  38. _wibble_'s avatar
I get these every 2 weeks automatically?
  39. marcosscriven's avatar
Despite being "Above Standard" on the seller level dashboard, and signed up for managed payments, it says I'm not eligible.
  40. Robsy128's avatar
I had loads of messages about these selling fees in July and August when I was away. Now I have a whole garage full of stuff to sell and no offers coming through. Very annoying. It’s like they know.
    JamesB83's avatar
Same, I'm eligible every single time and the one time Ive got stuff to sell I'm not eligible. Sods law.
