They replace screens etc, if it's waterproof phone originally, may no longer be waterproof. Screen vibrant colour won't be good as orginal, smoothness, responsiveness etc. Your not getting full apple experience. There's a way to check what parts are replaced (Google it) so you may get lucky.
    plewis00's avatar
It’ll appear on the Settings - About page if they have replaced anything. They don’t hide this any more but if you have replaced parts I would send it back ASAP as they are low quality and prone to failure sooner than OEM.

Anyone else concerned about France banning iPhone 12 due to radiation?

    No

What is "Good" usually like for MM?

A complete lottery. You might get a nice one with a couple of scratches here and there, or you'll get something that looks like its been used as a football in the local car park.

What always concerns me buying second hand from music magpie (and others) is the battery life, you dont know what you're going to get. Could be as low as 80% going by the description, which is meh!.
    perplexedme's avatar
Agreed. Sellers should be obliged to state the battery percentage (with a 1% tolerance). It’s one of the key aspects prospective buyers want to know.

Drop the 13 Pro down to this price and you've got yourself a deal.
    plewis00's avatar
I think everyone wants the 13 Pro because it's far more refined and improved over the 12 so you will likely be waiting a while. Even the 11 Pro took ages to drop in price and still holding its value.

Just remember if they did a screen replacement you won’t have tru tone because they do not use apple certifies screens
    plewis00's avatar
Face ID probably wouldn’t work either and it would be listed on the About page so you would know pretty quickly. I doubt they would risk this.

Thanks, picked up a Silver 256gb for £404 for a family member. Stock seems to come and go so if sold out try again a bit later.

I just paid £239 with 20% off for 12 pro 128gb Grade C with cracked back cover from cheapest_electrical ebay. Might be worth checking daily to see what else they put on

Has there been a better discount code than 20% off in the past year? Wondering if I should hold off til November
    plewis00's avatar
20% off has been the best but occasionally you get a code stack by luck and they might slash prices for Black Friday and expect an influx as people get their 15 handsets.

I bought a 256gb pristine 100% battery health for £330 a few days ago from FB market place. First iPhone I've owned
    deleted9453's avatar
Does that come with 12 months warranty or 12 seconds?

I'm sure there will be comeback when the phone ends up getting blocked

Wouldn't buy a bag of crisps of this company tried to sell my iPad pro to them sent it in they said the screen was shadowing? Total untruth so insulted me on price. So got it sent back all fine there. But the battery life is now atrocious I reckon they swapped the battery for a dud. Also had a iPhone off them went to use the selfie camera doesn't work. its a lottery with them phone could be from anywhere on the globe.
just my experience's with this company. Be wary.
    plewis00's avatar
I can believe a lot with Music Magpie but they would not be able to steal your iPad battery without you noticing. Cameras broken on phones sounds about right - seen that before!

Retiring my 3 year old iPhone 12 this week with the 15. Would I recommend buying this phone in 2023 probably not and mainly because of battery life it’s actually abysmal and has the smallest battery out of the 12, 13, 14 and 15. It’s also known to have overheating issues which I experienced quite a lot especially charging it when using it. I was great phone though lasted me 3 years but give it another year or 2 it will become slower so just add a bit extra and get the iPhone 13 or 14, don’t even bother with the pro versions if you are not an avid photographer or content creator

Do we think this screen is acceptable for grade good? I don't think it is. 51056288-y4UrE.jpg
    51056288-8t0Z3.jpg

Battery life is 82% (3utools states 83% and 1022 cycles)

There is no service and parts option in Settings>General>About (edited)
    plewis00's avatar
If you want my honest opinion - for a 3 year old phone in 'good grade' (with Music Magpie that means Grade C), yes, it is acceptable and does just about scrape through their own grading criteria (a tempered glass over the screen will mask/reduce a lot of those scratches) - hard to gauge how deep those scratches are. The battery would be a greater concern at 82% but it is still 'over 80%' so can't get them on that. They will likely take it back on free return, it depends how you feel and wouldn't blame you if you did.

received mine today. apple gives the message complaining of a potentially aftermarket camera and battery, but according to 3utools, everything is original as the serial numbers for each part match up. any ideas?
    ohsomeonenew's avatar
If apple reports it then I will just assume as true and return. Of course they have might have used official parts bur you never know.

Just got my handset today for a relative. Screen condition is near perfect but can;t check components till it is up and running. I am an Android Fanboi so no idea what to do with the handset until I see the relative.

However my question is...I see a load of deals have popped up for the 128gb iPhone 14 with 24 months on Three/ID for £730ish total. About £100 more than this 256gb phone with 24 x £10 SIMO. What do you iPhone experts think? Keep this Pro (I bought the 256gb version) or get the iPhone 14 with bigger battery, newer CPU and brand new? (edited)
    deleted9453's avatar
I would probably get the 14 tbh. But I am Android too so don't really know the in depth specs but 2 yrs newer can't be a bad thing.

Finally got refund today. Got it last Monday and posted back last Monday but royal mail didn't deliver until yesterday apparently (it would seem they hold onto them as it was sent tracked 48). But refunded now no problem.
