  • Disney+ standard (with Ads) - £4.99 a month
  • Disney+ standard (without Ads) - £7.99 a month (or £79.90 annually)
  • Disney+ premium - £10.99 a month (or £109.90 annually)

Existing customers will automatically be switched over to the premium Tier from November 1 but will need to initiate a move to a cheaper subscription before December 6.

After this date, these customers will be billed the new pricing from their next billing cycle.

The two standard tiers will allow customers to stream content with a resolution of up to 1080p. It will limit the number of concurrent streams to two per account.

The premium tier will allow customers to stream content with a resolution of up to 4K in ultra HD. It will limit the number of concurrent streams to four per account.

Can i get Disney Plus any cheaper?

Yes you can, here's a few options:

A) Turn every £12 in vouchers into £24.00 to use with Disney+ 3 month subscriptionusing Tesco points. Subscription automatically renews at the end of the 3 month period at the then current retail price unless cancelled.

B) Disney Plus via O2 Whether you’re new to O2 or upgrading, you can get up to 6 months of Disney+ on us*, with our latest plans. Simply choose it as your Extra when you checkout. Not ready for an upgrade? Add Disney+ as an Extra to your current plan via My O2 for £7.99 a month, and we’ll give you £2 a month off your bill.

Already got Disney+? That's no reason to miss out on up to 6 months on us. You can choose Disney+ as an Extra even if you're already a subscriber. Check out our Disney+ Extra FAQs for more info.

C) If the above are not an option for you, you can pay annually - . Get 12 months of Disney+ for less than the cost of 8 months of a monthly Disney+ Premium plan. Auto renews at the then annual Premium price (currently £109.90) until cancelled or another subscription plan is selected.
**Effective at the end of the billing period. Ends 31st October 2023.

As for all of the above, please check any terms and conditions before you purchase!

Just open a club Lloyds account and you'll have free Disney plus for as long as you have the account.
    BraveSirRobin's avatar
Cheers for this If you don't use the account for anything else you can effectively get Disney Plus for £3 a month.

A few things point to Disney having issues and this vid sums up some of them...

I guess I will need to move to Turkey again in a few months.
    nik.jones4mr's avatar
just make a turk itunes account buy vouchers and pay through there

It seems that we all need to re-assess our needs. Surely it was nice having prime, netflix and disney but did I have time to watch them all? hell no. So going forward I will drop one service for sure and at the moment my mind is set on Disney. for me personally they are not worth it as their latest productions are rubbish. so look forward receiving this notification from them and I will act on it.
    EN1GMA's avatar
or just circle them round every few months so you have new things to watch all the time, if you're not bothered about watching things when they come out straightaway

Anyone got the latest steps for signing up for a 12 month subscription for Disney+ in Turkey?

And can anyone confirm that the new premium option allows 4 concurrent streams in different houses (IP addresses) - and therefore not as strict as the Netflix sharing ban or is it the same IP address?
    zeoxzy's avatar
Last time the method was posted on here I managed to sign up. Paying £19 a year with a clarity card. Had to make a new Google account and set to turkey, download the disney app on my phone with that account and then sign up for disney through the app. (edited)

Yes, because it worked out so well for Netflix.

Like Netflix, Disney+ can do one! Sure there'll be those that can't live without these streaming services and will continue paying the increased fees and take on board the new restrictions

But the rest of us will happily ditch it (edited)

Netflix had around 238.39 million paid subscribers worldwide as of the second quarter of 2023. This marked an increase of 5.89 million subscribers compared with the previous quarter.20 Jul 2023

Ugh this is bad. Obviously they're following Netflix's example, but £3 increase is huge, especially in this climate and considering how much money Disney makes. Gross, I'll be cancelling once my current offer ends.
    t3r4's avatar
It was always underpriced compared to the competition, so saw it coming to be honest.

Far easier not to pay than mess around with VPNS etc
I can assure you you won't miss it
  10. FlangeNut123's avatar
If you are a Lloyds bank customer you can get it as your Lifestyle Benefit free for 12 months.
    dfunked's avatar
Yeah, I've got this but curious whether it'll convert me to standard or premium. 4k is hard to give up when you get used to it.
  11. Starphen's avatar
What happens if you've just paid for the annual sub?

Can you effectively sign up to a year now, and get 4K for the current price throughout?
    dvs's avatar
Yes. You’ll be moved to the premium tier. It won’t cost any extra if you’re on an annual plan until your renewal.
  12. paulvandyk's avatar
For those who use free Disney plus like me as a part of o2/Samsung offers. To watch 4k and Atmos content, will we have to pay extra difference for Premium as o2/Samsung only offer £7.99 tier?
  13. Optimus2050's avatar
What the password restrictions? Can’t see anything mentioned, or did I miss something?

Thank you for contacting the Club Lloyds Lifestyle Benefits Helpdesk.

Club Lloyds Disney+ Subscription is standard with adverts.

. Back to Vue tickets then.

"What happens to my current Disney+ if I chose before 1st November 2023?

If you have selected Disney+ as your 12 month lifestyle benefit before 1st November, you will continue on your current subscription, which is equivalent to the Disney+ Premium product."

So yeah existing subscribers are ok. I don't think Disney plus was even a choice when a joined Lloyds, great timing!!

    Oh well, back to Vue!

not allowed to post as a deal unfortunately as i feel it could generate some heat! but there is a certain bank where you can get disney+ for 12 months as part of their current account.
    FIRE40's avatar
Club Llyods? already mentioned in previous posts
  16. BucketMan's avatar
Got the Club Lloyds offer through. It's for the advert only plan, and you cannot upgrade it. Had asked Lloyds last week for confirmation, and they were useless. Told me to wait until the 1st November. Which ironically was when the voucher/link came through.

Same thing has happened with the Tesco Clubcard Reward offer for 3 months of Disney+ for £3 worth of clubcard points, the terms of the offer actually stated subscription would renew at the Premium price of £10.99 per month, but people who bought the offer have found they are now on the Standard With Ads tier (which costs £4.99 per month). Tesco are blaming Disney hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/51271201

Update: Turns out this isn't the case for the Tesco Clubcard Reward offer that was 3 months Disney+ for £3 worth of Clubcard points (edited)

Thankfully I've still got a working membership to IP torrents, with that and various other things, any movie or TV show I want is at my reach! I'm not against paying for my media, but I'm not paying Netflix and Disney+ prices (edited)

I'm paid up in my summer residence in Turkey for the next 12 months at around £18 for the year.

I suspect I'll head out there on vacation next year around renewal time
    GemmaPell's avatar
Do you have to have VPN to use your Turkish account here ?

Bye-bye Disney+, Disney+ has only been going a few years, its started at £49 and now its going to £110 a year... don't think so...
    EN1GMA's avatar
they thought they could beat the king, but the king fought back, now even stronger. these other streamers should just go back to how things were, licensing to netflix.
  23. sjmleicester's avatar
Just cancelled mine. There is not enough fresh content or stuff I actually want to watch to warrant £8 a month
    OptimusBrides's avatar
All you need is late October for 3 months:

    - Hocus Pocus
    - Die Hard
    - Home Alone

    All the required viewing lol
  24. cblanc's avatar
Cancelled my subscription. I'm gonna get rid of everything and just choose one service each 2 months or something, watch everything I want and move on
    dvs's avatar
This is sensible – especially as content is starting to be reduced or is available on multiple platforms at the same time. I suspect the steaming companies will start introducing minimum periods of lots do this.
  25. charleaward81's avatar
Take more than an increase to save Disney, this will probably be the final nail. If millions have now with the dross they are releasing no one is staying when prices rise further.
    MoneyTrain81's avatar
Yeahhhhh they're gonna be just fine. 'Final nail'.... Get a grip man, they are in no trouble as a company at all.
  26. luffydude's avatar
Price goes up, wokeness goes up, quality goes down

They put your prices up so that shows like Shehulk and the marvels can get extra bad CG

Welp. Disney was the only streaming service I was paying for. Looks like I’ll be sailing the high seas right past Disneyland now, too.

Good luck Disney. Netflix are bleeding out because they got greedy. You, too, shall feel that sting.

Netflix increased subs by 5m last quarter I believe. They're doing fine

Yet another streaming service locking 4K HDR behind the top price tier.

Despite 4K being standard across all TVs on sale now.
    spiritual_mutant's avatar
    A very valid point, :/
  36. plsnoimmoist's avatar
This plus the Netflix increases on top of shows being pulled to different services all the time just means I'm once again on the open seas. Convenience and value are king, streaming services are no longer providing either.

Too many hands in the cookie jar imo.
  37. LaurenceGough's avatar
Wow another company going to 1080p only. Cancelled.
  38. toto123's avatar
    I will unsubscribe, thank you.
Not throwing my money into those giant greedy companies.
There are so many things in life to do and enjoy.
  39. BucketMan's avatar
Well they have made some hay as the sun shined. Doubt they'll get much renewed interest.

I wonder how long it will be before we get pay-per-view, with one front end and multiple repositories in the back end?

Even Netflix with all their content, I feel I have run dry pretty much in 3 months. I've set up the DVD player, and might finally get through my unplayed cheap acquisitions. Some charity shops offer about 5 DVDs for a £1.

I do wonder if they'd do better to curate content monthly or weekly to hype and drive some interest. Rather than just piling up content. It's interesting scanning Disney listings trying to work out films that have stood the test of time. (edited)
    HonourableGentleman's avatar
And not every movie/TV series is available on streaming so physical media still rocks!

Bluey. Literally the only thing we watch, and its via someone else's account. I'll just chuck it on a USB and play via that
