Weirdly it says: Customers who purchase a Meta Quest 2 between 13 September and 14 September 2023 are eligible to claim this offer.

Old promo banner added accidentally to the website?

Whete do you get games /worlds etc whatever you call them for these devices

Any actual owners prepared to share experiences please?
    davejb's avatar
From the meta store website or the phone app or the headset itself. Very easy.

Best deal out there with the gift card (if you were planning to spend your money there anyway). (edited)

With regards to the gift card, there was an old offer you could find, but it wasn't live on the product page, just the £5 was. I queried this with them yesterday and was told it's an old offer and not on product page.

It appears renewed to me, and now it shows as an active offer on the page I can see no reason you wouldn't get it.

Personally I've ordered, paid on my credit card, screenshotted the offer terms etc and will pursue a return/section 75 claim for being missold in Jan should voucher be withheld. (edited)

Tbh if I didn't already have a quest 2 I'd pay the extra £170(or £220 if the voucher actually comes through) for a Quest 3. Even if it meant not getting it for a few more months while I save. Just seems like it's a much nicer experience since it's much smaller and fits better, and with twice the power as the quest 2 you can be sure it'll be supported by all quest games for another 6 years whereas I imagine(total guess/assumption) some bigger/graphically intense games will start dropping support for the Quest 2 in 3 years. Some AR/MR games will be(already are?) Quest 3 exclusive too since the Quest 3 is made for AR/MR. The high res colour passthrough is a major improvement by itself, can even see and use your phone without removing the headset.

Quest 3 might get a black friday deal too hopefully. Even at just £20 cheaper that'll make it £150 more(or £200 counting the voucher).

Either way whichever you buy get the I Expect You to Die games. They're escape room style games but done better than any others. Makes you feel like james bond.

At the risk of being shot by the community, I bought one of these on Sun as a Christmas present for my son. I've just been on live chat with argos asking if they'll honour the voucher or if I need to return and rebuy (bit of a faf, but willing to do so for £50!). They're saying this is a mistake and they won't be honouring the voucher for any purchases made in the stated 'qualifying period'. I can't see how they can do that though!

I've read the terms & conditions....it mentions that they can cancel if item is priced incorrectly (which it isn't)....nowhere does it mention an incorrect additional special offer

Is anyone any further forward and know if you will get a gift card. Is this deal on
    davejb's avatar
the terms clearly state it is. but if youre not confident they will honour it in january then another retailer is the way to go..

As someone who hasn't considered a quest until these offers came about, is it basically its own store/ecosystem? Does it work with existing games like on Steam? What's the average size of a game? Thanks

I'm wondering this also - my main question is are there many free games to play on it? My son has a playstation so i'd always swayed towards staying in the PS eco system but i don't want to shell out £500 for it! (edited)

    Tough choice for me.

I'm a Quest 1 user, I need to upgrade soon due to lack of support, I use my Q1, 4 times a week for Fitness rather than gaming.

I was thinking about a Q3 because it looks awesome, but the price tag is a little high to swallow, plus I'm still happy with my Q1 for what I use it for.

The main app I use is FitXR which has stopped support, they nicely are letting us Q1 users run an old version without updates and for free (is a subscription app) for a year, before it will stop.

The Q2 is getting cheap, seems like it will be supported for a reasonable length of time, particaurly because of the high user base even once they stop selling....

    Decisions... decisions...

it's like buying a discounted PS4 when PS5 was just launched.
no question about it Q3 is much better than Q2.but it's in early days and you'll pay for the difference.

If i already have an oculus quest, can I still do the referral redemption on the same account (so two oculus quests share the same account)?
