Got mine this afternoon, picked up a smart E14 from Poundland for £5 and it looks great on a slow colour cycle scene aptly named "Gorgeous"51877341-kUVRD.jpg

You have obviously never seen it in the flesh or have zero taste.

Can this be used with a timer plug? i.e. will it turn back on when the power to the light is restored?

    Yes

Yes, noticed that as well, what put me off was it has to be plugged in.

Thanks OP. I've spent thousands on expensive lighting and lamps in my home but have never come across anything like this. Picked it up this afternoon and just tried it and it is fantastic. Not some cheapo tacky effect but absolutely wonderful.

Oh amazing! I'm glad you like it, I've had a tk maxx lamp for years that was falling to bits so went for this and I'm really chuffed with it

Almost pressed the button on this and then thought to myself why...

From what I can make it out its not really suitable for reading, it's no good for decent background lighting. So what are people using it for, is it purely a showpiece as I would not want something like this in any of my living areas taking the place of a decent table lamp, it would probably be bedroom / office / movie room where we already have mood lighting that can be adjusted to different brightness levels.

You're welcome! I've ordered one this morning, collecting it at 4pm. I'm very excited as I hope it will make me less sad about taking the Christmas lights down

Could they choose worse pictures for their own products?

Thank you OP, had £16 of nectar points so seemed rude not to order. Can also reuse the smart plug i had for the xmas lights.... win win

Just picked the last one up from our local Argos. Put it on an old glass candle base which changes the look of it slightly to placing it direct on a table. Great price, and looks lovely in our living room.

Reserved one last night, hope to pick it up later this afternoon (waiting for email).

Is it best to use a standard E14 LED bulb, or go for a colour changing one?
