For an 'original Nespresso' pod type machine, I see it as a no-brainer!

The Podster coffee system: Barista-grade coffee, from sustainable pods, at home. Imagined by Hotel Chocolat, engineered by Dualit.

Hotel Chocolat stirred up the world of drinking chocolate with the Velvetiser; now they're turning their attention to coffee. Enter, the Podster: imagined by Hotel Chocolat, engineered by Dualit.

A sleek, new pod coffee machine for your home, use it with any of Hotel Chocolat's family of five Rabot Estate Coffee blends (or standard-sized Nespresso®*compatible pods) to deliver a café-quality caffeine kick and extract the depth of flavour that connoisseurs expect.

The Podster is made to the highest specifications, so every part of it looks and feels chic, comfortable and effortless, from the soft-touch buttons and soft-close arm to the engraved pod loader. Even the Rabot Estate Coffee pods themselves are made with a double foil seal to preserve the freshness of your coffee.

Several postive comments here, so perhaps I was just unlucky. Mine isn't hot enough and even the larger measure (after callibration) is well under half a mug. Maybe ok for an expresso, but not for a cup/mug.

It's meant to be an espresso machine. If you want a mug, top up with hot water for americano, hot/frothed milk for latte/cappucino. The 'large' setting is a lungo, maxes at 110ml. (edited)

    Any good deals on pods?
    Nikkers71's avatar
I just picked up some of aldis compatible 1.99 for 10 pods and they are very good
  3. charlie_hall's avatar
great quality, actually made by dualit
  4. canaryfanic's avatar
Very highly recommend this for nespresso ‘type’ pods
    KiloMike's avatar
How would you compare it to a nespresso? I have the krups
  5. razortth's avatar
Can I use Starbucks pods in these?
    Noveed's avatar
Yes I believe they are made by.nespresso with Starbucks branding

Random little Wednesday morning rant, but are soft-touch buttons really a feature/selling point? Does anybody really see something and say "no I'm not buying that, the buttons are rock solid"?
    MrManwelo's avatar
You'll save a lot of money in life if instead of buying the 'soft-touch' premium products, you build up calluses on your button-pressing fingers and buy the cheaper hard-touch alternatives.

Got this new when they had the VIP offer with the velvetiser for £100 ... Best purchase I've ever made.

Got a few options when it comes to pods. Can either go Nespresso direct or buy from supermarket ...

Other option is to get the refillable pods and fill with your own ground coffee!

Excellent machines that have never missed a beat!

Is the tray the cup sits in metal, or a plastic metal looking one, if that makes sense? Thanks.

Had ours a year now and love it. A steal at this price
  9. vida74's avatar
I’ve got one of these - would recommend!
    BQ84's avatar
Hi, could I use costa coffee pods in these?
  10. SukhG01's avatar
Do you have to turn off the water when you've reached your desired coffee amount?
    ohheyhello's avatar

Nop it's got two preset water amounts you can adjust
  11. Cyb's avatar
I should buy some pods. Any recommendations?
  12. digger87's avatar
I have both and the Hotel Chocolat one looks so much more sleeker. Taste wise and pod availability wise I don't think there's a crucial difference. At this price I'd recommend the HC!
  13. wantthatone's avatar
Arrived today and looks brand new, just a bit of a tatty box
  14. freyabo's avatar
Bought, it'd be rude not to at this price!
Already have a Dolce Gusto machine, now I can try Nespresso pods too. Variety is the spice of life 🙃
    Thanks ohheyhello!
    mrgentry's avatar
Throw a Tassimo in and you're sorted.
  15. uniquebriefcase's avatar
Nice find, purchased and heat added.
  16. Ashe's avatar
Tempting as a backup to my current Nespresso machine, considering how expensive those are now.
  17. contom's avatar
    Bought. Thanks OP
  18. MarkS76's avatar
    Got one for work, thanks!
  19. DingIs's avatar
Stop buying pod machines, buy proper coffee machines!
    Cyb's avatar
    Yes daddy.
  20. katek's avatar
Been looking for a machine so snapped this up! Thank you!!
  21. Littlepink's avatar
I bought one a couple of years ago to replace my nespresso machine and it's so much better and looks nicer imo.
  22. Martin_Cruse-Stoddart's avatar
Mine arrived today. Like new, in a hotel chocolat box.
  23. No1welshboyo's avatar
Mine looks brand new, but box a bit battered
  24. john.moore46ntl's avatar
Got this machine and it was like brand new and works great. Ive ordered another one for my daughter. Get the pods from discount dragon there are always some on offer and they are great value.
  25. pinkthing's avatar
Cheers. Ordered. Great for when you're too skint to buy pods for your Vertuo machine
  26. alphamike's avatar
    Bargain
  27. danceswithhorses's avatar
    oh dear...i'm getting tempted
    digger87's avatar
Me too and I didn't have the willpower to resist. Now thinking of getting another one delivered to my mother's abode so I needn't worry about having a coffee whenever I visit, just need to stock her up with some pods or take some with me.
  28. markcarter501's avatar
these are decent , nice and hot as well
  29. crazy786's avatar
Can you make a cappuccino with this?
    Laurence_Saunders's avatar
I imagine this will make an espresso, so combined with a milk frother you could, but this wouldn't do it by itself
  30. Saveerrrsss's avatar
Pods are not real coffee 😄
    Coloured water
    tonyspoons's avatar
    Not sure if serious...
  31. julie.stokes's avatar
    Do these froth milk
    julie.stokes's avatar
If not any velvetiser milk frothers going cheap please
  32. Little_Casper's avatar
I bet the Sherminator has this very coffee machine too.
  33. Martin_Cruse-Stoddart's avatar
Do these take the new or old style pods? Thanks
    phillyboy's avatar
    Old
  34. jaymsn's avatar
Awesome. Snapped one even though we got a fairly recent machine. These are some of the best Nespresso makers and are getting hard to come by at a decent price.
  35. ecsrobin's avatar
Cheers, not a regular coffee drinker but regretted buying one new when they were cheap for guests. Purchased.
  36. hbjatuk's avatar
    What else?
    Cyb's avatar
    what more do you want?
  37. Hippih's avatar
Mine came today and the espresso machine looks brand new. Again, box is a bit tacky
  38. katek's avatar
Has anyone tried theirs yet? Mine does a couple of annoying things. Vibrates so much the mug slides around and every time I pull the handle up/down water comes out of the spout which annoys me when I’ve already put the cup on. Is this normal or should I get another!!? (edited)
    sanny87's avatar
I had to return mine. It made one coffee and then gave up. It did vibrate a lot that one time it did work.
  39. tikibeach's avatar
I am getting “This code can't be applied to your order.“ 😔
