This or the sequel? Is it good for an 8 year old?

Sequel is better. Probably too difficult for an 8 year old

Don't even bother wasting time looking for reviews or opinions on this one. Just buy it and getting playing it asap.

This is an absolute top tier game. Looks fantastic, plays fantastic, sounds fantastic. I don't even like metroidvania's but I absolutely loved this game. It definitely feels more like a platformer first and a metroidvania second.

Edit: And then obviously once you've completed this one, get the sequel (The Will of the Wisps) and complete that as well. Moon Studios have produced two top tier games and I am so looking forward to their next project "No Rest for the Wicked". (edited)

F it. That sold me. I'm also not a Metroidvania guy, but have wanted to play these for AGES.

Played briefly on xbox back in the day.

I've been gaming for over 30 years but the opening 5 minutes of this game broke me emotionally. Beautiful, beautiful game.

Amazing metroidvania game. Really amazing, difficulty spikes are tough as nails but you want to try again right away. I really, really love this game and the follow up too (will of the wisps) and if you haven't played it i strongly recommend you do, unless you're weak.

It's far from the platformers i grew up with in the 80s. 10/10.

These games are honestly brilliant... Coming from a casual gamer, not great at videogames lol. But these had me hooked and they just look so beautiful... One day I hope to play through them again.
