sorted byTV screen size estimators are all over the place, some say 75" is fine, others like Samsung's one recommends their largest 98".. some say if it's 4k then defo >85.
It'll be in the middle of the house so not too much light from windows and main use will be Netflix and a bit of gaming connected to a PC with an RTX 3070. Don't often have friends around if that makes a difference.
Software is much better than my last tv. Very responsive.
it doesn't support Freeview play so it doesn't come with itv, BBC or channel 4.
I've side loaded BBC iPlayer to the tv but not been able to find a itvx or channel 4 apk which works but those two can be cast to the TV from my phone at least.
I don't like the quality of image on game mode with consol. My 7y old Soni bravía KDL is way HD than this one. Also game mode is a bit weird so I need to fine tune it. However I think 65 is too big for me moving from 55 at this short distance. Also some bleed on the top Nevertheless is cheap and the ambilight is another level... (edited)
Which has the better display? Is QLED going to be better than this?
Can Ambilight still be linked to other HUE bulbs?
My main TV is the Samsung q60a. That's a close enough model to q65c. A means it is 2 gen older than C. I like it. It is an entry-level qled. Some call it a fake qled. I can't say I see much difference between this and my old 4k UHD Samsung. £479 sounds OK, but it depends on what soundbar they give you.
Hisense qled at £300 sounds like a great deal. I've not tried this brand. Some like it, and others placed negative comments about it. If you go with it, buy from somewhere where you get a good warranty.
So, both the above models are qled, but quite basic, entry models. Hisense is good value, Samsung may be a good deal if you get a good soundbar with it.
This Philips stands out due to refresh rate, 2.1 HDMI, Dolby Atmos, Google TV, and Ambilight. So, it may be better for gaming. However, I think the best thing about this Philips is the warranty. New TVs are not made to last, so 5 year warranty is great.
I don't think I've noticed much difference in terms of image between my LED and my QLED. It may be because it is an entry level qled. I purchased it mainly because it is 65 inches, and I paid an ok price for it, £575. (edited)
First impression it's big, I used to use 27 inch monitor.
Need more time to set up properly, I can feel strain on my neck after using for 2hrs cos screen size, but hope it adapt.
For ps5 is brilliant, picture quality, ambilight super play little bit dead space and jump so many times, immersion whit ambilight and good gaming headphones amazing,
So for conclusion i'am like so far just neck pain bit worry.
Thank you
I'm replacing my tcl 55c826k but while the screen was good then software was terrible and tcl seemed to not care about updates with even dropping support early.
I've heard good stuff about the Philips TVs so I'm hoping it can be a 1-1 picture quality. also 5 year warranty + 90 days returns is not to shabby.
The link to BBC shows that this model is not certified for using BBC iPlayer. Which is a bit mad considering that some inferior models are certified.
'This model does not come with any apps related to Freeview Play/Digital UK. This includes BBC iPlayer, ITVX, All4, My5. If you wish to access one of these apps, we recommend pairing with a Smart device such as a set-top box or games console or casting these apps to your TV from an Android or Apple phone.'

Update: Software update fixed it. As i said overall it's pretty good. (edited)
Are you choosing digital channels only?
1) I had no problems with the channels. BBC1 HD is where I expect it to be (channel 101) and Channel 4 is also where I expect it to be (channel 104)
2) PS5 worked with VRR and 120hz instantly
3) PC originally decided it was 30hz and when I tried to change refresh rate, 60hz was the maximum! Initially couldn't find how to set above 60hz but got there in the end
4) HDR on PC looks washed out in Windows (which I understand may be due to poor TV/monitor HRD implementation rather than Windows) but there are some settings which improve this but I've not spent much time experimenting.
5) Couldn't get optical out to work with my soundbar initially. The connection on the TV seemed to allow the cable to plug partially in with different rotations. Combination of failing eyes with this probably meant it was connected wrong but again, got there in the end.
6) Not sure yet about edge glow and suspect there is some, but I'm not yet at the optimal viewing point (when I watch TV at night I do so with the lights off so I will know how well the picture holds up tonight (if bleed is bad, how blacks look etc)
7) At first I thought you couldn't access the settings whilst watching Netflix/Amazon, but there is a 2nd settings button at the bottom of the remote.
Output colour format: RGB
Output dynamic range: Full
Limited is 16-255
Full is 0-255
See if that gets rid of the washed out look
