The grass really is greener with this LG QNED75 TV. Its Quantum Dot NanoCell technology means your favourite movies and TV shows are bursting with richer, more lifelike colours. The a5 AI Processor Gen6 is the brain of the TV. It uses AI upscaling to enhance the picture and sound quality of older content into 4K resolution. Plus, AI Sound Pro is on hand to make sure those classic movies sound as good as they look. And Filmmaker Mode turns off any picture processing that can make movies look unnatural, so you can enjoy them exactly the way the director intended.

Good to know

- Access all your favourite apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and loads more via LG's webOS smart platform
- Game Optimiser fine tunes your settings so your games run smoothly and look and sound their best – the competition won't stand a chance
- AI Acoustic Tuning uses the mic on your remote to tweak the TV's audio settings based on the size and shape of your room

For those not in the know, this is an entry-level edge-lit QNED from LG. The closest equivalent is the Samsung Q60C QLED which retails for £1099.

The Samsung uses a VA panel so has a higher contrast and generally is better than this QNED, but if you can get this QNED for the possible £792, then it's definitely worth a consideration. A lot of screen for the money.

Thanks for reading my TED talk.

    You beat me to it.

Most LG LCD's are also only 8bit IPS panels. Which is good for wide angle or off axis viewing, but has worse overall colour and contrast than a VA panels.

Only about 3 of LG Qneds are full array.

Ideally you want a full 10bit VA or IPS panel on an LCD TV. 8bit with FRC (frame rate correction) is inferior.

I wouldn't recommend buying any LCD TV that's only edge lit, over about 50 or 55 inches at a push. For 65" an above, you definitely want a direct lit or full array.

How does this fair against their OLED's? Never heard of QNED's before

This TV is an LCD, that uses LEDs for its backlight. All LCD and LED TV's use backlights. OLEDs have no backlights, as their self emissive or self illuminating. OLED is considered the superior technology, as you get true backs. But their more expensive and could suffer from screen burn at some point.

Then you have standard LCD screens or ones that use colour enhancement filters to improve colour accuracy and vibrancy. Those are marketed as QLED, Nanocell, QNED and Tri-luminous depending on the manufacturer.

This LG QNED, is basically LG'S version of QLED. All TV's labeled or marketed as QLED, use the same system of backlight and filters. However LG's nanocell, Qned, and Sony's Tri-luminous is ever so slightly different in the colour and configuration of the backlight and the colour of the filters used, compared to QLED.

If you want to know more, I can provide you with more technical details or links, if required.

would terrestrial TV be viewable on this? Everyone seems to shoot down every TV because they aren't as good as £1500+ sets?
