sorted byEasy enough to build if you know one end of a screwdriver from the other. Easier with two people to hold the major sections of the frame together while you bolt it together and then when you've put the frame on the assembled desktop upside down, turning it back on its feet. I managed on my own but a little awkward in places. The leg sections are heavy, and top heavy, especially the motor side so take care when assembling the frame.
The controller is pretty good, I like the height readout and the 4 memory buttons, and also the fact the display switches off after a short time. The motor is fairly quiet and smooth. The controller screws into place under the desk, unlike the power brick.
Tips: assemble the desktop on a flat surface, ideally a straight and level wood floor or a large table, but with something protective like a sheet to protect the finish. I built it on the laminate floor of my loft office, and just used the thin foam sheeting in the packaging. If you have to assemble it on a carpet just be mindful of the alignment, you don't want "steps" between the sections. The dowels should help align it but there might be a little play.
As with anything fixed with bolts, put in all the bolts loosely, don't tighten any bolt up until you're ready to tighten all, and then tighten opposites in sequence, a bit at a time.
Criticisms: the sectional top does make it more convenient a package for delivery (and manhandling through a loft hatch) but some people won't like the seams. I bought a felt desk mat to cover the faux leather portion and the joins between the sections and to be a better mousing surface.
Cable routing and tidying can be a pain. The power supply has long cables both sides and there are basic self adhesive clips to hold the cables in place but these have to support the power brick too. It would have been better to support it in a bracket that screws into the wood, and this is a mod I'm going to do. (edited)
