sorted byAnother virgin broken link again 🤷 (edited)
What's irritating me is I'm stuck with the old Super Hub 3 and it's rubbish I want the 5 with WiFi 6
I was about to join Vodafone but Virgin matched the offer and they sent me their new WiFi 6 hub they haven't asked back for, was wondering if i could use that instead of the superhub 3
Abysmal company, even worse when you try to leave.
Unless you're one of the very few that have an actual FTTP connection with Virgin, then they are by far the worst network when it comes to reliability and gaming.
They use war-era tech delivered through coaxial for most homes and it just isn't up to scratch. The speed is irrelevant when packet loss is through the roof and downtime is frequent.
Recently had CityFibre installed and it's magnificent. £30 a month for 1gbps symmetrical and it's crazy how much better it is.
FWIW I ditched virgin 1gb for BT and their basic 80mbps FTTC and it was significantly better than virgin in every way. Gaming was usable again, as was streaming. The only downside was speed (or lack of).
Oh and no price rises through CF, where as Virgin are more than happy to add £10 pm on each year. (edited)
That said the issue with Virgin is poor backhaul connections and oversubscription. Openreach FTTP has super low contention rates and so does City fibre in some areas
Nothing compares where I live
City fibre not available to me. Only open reach. But providers don't have symmetrical speeds whcih is the downside.
So is everyone here new to Virgin in order to claim cashback?
My contract ends at the end of March. How do I get a new deal? I'm looking for faster speed (currently on M125) and for similar price. Do I have to wait until contract finishes at the end of the month before looking at renewals?
