    Any word on what's the chip inside?
    Have been using a few of 25PW1-U3 from Orico, those came with JMicron JMS578. Not the most reliable but at least they pass through TRIM/DISCARD for SSDs.
    This one looks different so ended up ordering one just to check. Product code seems to be 2526U3-V1.

    Update: found a JMicron JMS578 in this one too.
    So a 4-pack of the other design can be had for 16.99 now with code FRESH20 here. Or £4.25 each. (edited)

    I'd like to take the HDD out of an old (2005) desktop before I chuck it to ensure nothing worth keeping is on it. If I took it out would this be a good solution to then connect to a laptop?
