Was just checking WD site to get another 18TB drive for my NAS & found that the drives are actually on sale. Don't think the 15% abandoned cart thingy works any more but 10% cashback via Topcashback should work fine.

Got two of these at the moment, but want a third for off-site backup - should I bite my tongue and buy at this price, or look for a cheaper bare 18TB?

I got 29 of these disks now all shucked to a couple of NAS drives. I could just be lucky but I've had only one failure so far in over 5 years. Considering that my NAS drives are both running 24/7, I would say that they perform pretty damn good.

Just ordered via TCB, hopefully it tracks properly for the 10% CB.
Also available from Amazon at the same price for an alternative retail source.
Coupons/ codes don't stack for this price.

Yes - HD prices have shot up. Last time I got these 2 years ago, £234 ish. (edited)

Yea I last paid around that price also about two years ago but that was with the 15% 'abandon cart' code included. Unfortunately I Don't think that little trick works anymore so the best we can hope for is the TBC 10% cashback. If your buying a few drives, just be sure to make a note of the date & time of your purchase then If doesn't track properly, you can always open a claim with TCB at a later date.. (edited)

Arg. Couldn't resist. Qnap or terramaster now?

Well I can confirm that they will go straight into any modern QNAP or Synology NAS without having to mess around with the pins. Can't comment on the Terramaster NAS range I'm afraid. (edited)

Hey guys, considering the fact that this is a flash spring sale only lasting a few days. WD maybe planning a bigger sale for the easter holiday in a couple of weeks. If you do make a purchase now, It might be wise to hold on to your drives unopened until after the easter holiday. Just in case they do go back on sale at a lesser price, you'll still have the option of an easy free return. (edited)

Still £150 overpriced. As they have been for the past decade.

Hard drives have gone up price I would have thought some like this should be around the £200 mark

Top cashback works with this site for approx 5.5%
You can get discount codes by registering too usually 10% but they don't always work on discounted drives so may not work.

The recert 16Tb is also a very good deal imo (normally around 185). Note I said recertified. Not the 16tb through ops link. (edited)

These prices are ridiculous. Glad I stocked up on hard drives when they were more reasonable price. Also deleting stuff i've been hoarding for no good reason helps
