I bought this one phone and everything is good apart from your fact the microphone is echoing and you can hear echos when playing back. I don't know if anyone has this issue or the phone is faulty but just in case be aware.

Are you using a case by any chance? I had an old phone case that caused this.

Is this better than the Note 11 pro 5g (6 + 128)? I got one on Amazon warehouse yesterday for £141 but not sure which is better!

The equivalent note 13 in 6+128 would be £159, both similar but 11 pro edges it on spec, but it's older. Note 13 will get android 14. 11 pro is 5g obviously (edited)

Looking for a phone for family - But they want a good camera. What's this one's camera like?

The camera is decent for a budget phone. Its no iPhone quality of course however it should just about do the trick

Not only 2gb ram less but half the on board storage for £159 you mention. I think you would agree it is worth paying £20 extra for this deal 🙋

I didn't originally notice this was the 8/256Gb, that is a lot of ram and storage for a budget phone and price.
    Heat added!

You are quite right in saying that "that 5G isn't available everywhere" but some people go for 4G phones like these offered at reasonable price for high ram and rom and for being recently released with probably fair few OS and Security updates.

I can't believe Xiaomi are still making 4G mobiles. I bought a Xiaomi Mi 10t lite in September 2020 which has 5G. I know that 5G isn't available everywhere but it seems a retrograde step buying a 4G phone in 2024. I much prefer a 5G phone even with an IPS LCD screen. It's going to be difficult replacing my Mi 10t lite even though it's now end of life re updates

If you use your phone for multimedia or gaming, then yes. However there are a lot of people (myself not included) who just use their phone for messaging, maps and the occasional blurry poorly framed photo. As long it has WiFi this is still a fair bit of phone for the money.

I would assume that I'd go with the Moto Edge 40 neo or the Poco 5g (or something similar) for a fifty pounds more or so. If you don't consume a lot of media on your phone however, you'd probably be alright with this.
