Xiaomi redmi note 10 5G dual app option

Quelle surprise when this wasn’t in settings - apps - (dual apps)

Is there a workaround to get this to work?

I’m ultimately trying to get a WhatsApp for each sim.

Any suggestions?

Just had a look on a Note 10 Pro running MIUI 12.5.7 on top of Android 11 and it is possible to duplicate WhatsApp as in it’s listed in the apps that can be duplicated but I didn’t try it. Did duplicate Barclays bank app without issue previously, though be sure to delete the duplicate app through the Settings app rather than normal way! (edited)

I believe that in order to enable end to end encryption whatsApp is device specific rather than SIM only.
They do no allow device sharing (phone, tablet etc) so maybe start from Whatsapp end.

Dual apps would appear to be a function on these phones if you Google it or go to YouTube.

I have no idea why it doesn’t work on mine.

Dual apps function usually works when both the SIMs are active. In the case of Xiaomi, they seem to have disabled it on their lower end phones. This link seems to have more information and a workaround but be aware it is not an official Xiaomi site.
