Other options available include Spotify Premium which now includes audiobooks, and Borrow Box available through your local library. eBooks and audiobooks available to rent for free

Nice! Appears as a banner in my app - been waiting ages for this to come back.

Worth noting for anyone with Spotify Premium - a surprising number of good / new books are included. I always check before using an Audible credit.

I’m getting sick of Audible literally nagging me by email to take a free trial, and then when I click the link, it tells me I can’t have one as I’m not eligible, having already had one this year (I haven’t ). I wonder if they are trying to trick me into clicking the paid membership button?

These offers never work for me. Always gives me a full renewal price after the first month when I check when my renewal is.

Anyone else have this issue? I’ve never let it go past the month to find out if they actually charge it or not.

I hadn't used Audible for ages until recently and decided to get Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (the guy who wrote the Martian that the film with Matt Damon is based on) and I have to say I'm loving it. The guy reading it is excellent at selling the story and the characters, and that's always been my trouble with audio books. But if you like sci-fi I highly recommend that one.

Yet another dodgy bait & switch - I signed up for the "99p first month, get months 2 and 3 for free", yet was just charged £7.99 for month 2. Spoke with customer support who were quite aggressive in blaming me, despite me copying & pasting the terms from the email with the offer. Maaged to get a refund though, but was quite surprised how crap their CS agent was, given how the main Amazon ones are usually pretty good at owning up to their mistakes.

Any good books worth getting that will work with whispersync if you also buy the kindle version? For example, I was looking at getting Shogun which is on for 99p, but it doesn't seem like it's on whispersync...

Shogun used to be, got it for 99p for the kindle ebook and £3.99 for the 51 hour audiobook last October, but in the run up to the series they split the audiobook into two unfortunately so the new 2 part version does not sync anymore with whispersync. Simple money grab in my opinion which is sad.. my version still syncs and I like to follow the audiobook on kindle sometimes. Great audiobook by the way once I got used to the recitation, took a couple of hours but now I have just 3 hours left to go.

I signed up the day before this offer was sent to me! I’m paying 99p/m for 3 months but tbh it’s still quite a good deal. Not sure I can be bothered to contest it for the sake of £1.89

I tried the link and said I wasn’t eligible however within a few days Amazon emailed me to sign up again using this offer so keep a lookout even if it didn’t work for you directly via this.

I got the 3 months for 99p offer. Can I cancel straight away or do I have to wait until after I got all 3 credits before I can cancel?

Cancelled my subscription, contacted support via Web chat and got them to fully cancel it as had days left. They then gave me a link to sign up for the deal but it said I couldn't sign up for a second subscription, support gave me 90 days free to solve the problem. Hot deal, thanks

I also got bamboozled. I only had 1st month for 99p. The next month they will charge me full price, how cheeky. Cancelling.
