When you first see this GMT watch, it is the deep green dial that strikes you. As you move, its color seems to change so that it presents an ever-changing and always intriguing aspect. But the watch’s true character only reveals itself when you put it to the test. The ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal are almost impervious to scratches. The Spring Drive movement offers excellent shock resistance. The screw-down crown is inset at 4 o’clock for safety. The watch is 20 bar water resistant and thanks to its compact 40.5 mm diameter and curved profile, it sits perfectly on the wrist. Truly, a watch for all seasons.

Better quality than most Rolexes and for about 1/4 of the price too!

Save up for a real GMT?

Don't you have a billy goat to catch?

You do understand that GMT is a watch complication, not a model. You are no doubt referring to a Rolex GMT-Master when you think of a "real" GMT but that just displays your utter ignorance of the topic.

The Spring drive 9R66 is technologically superior to just about every other GMT in the world, from any brand, at any price point (excluding wild haute-horology pieces). It's also a true GMT. It's as real as it gets more to the point its a GREAT deal at this price, heat.

For most people looking for a high-end watch - this should not be on your list.
This is really for the tiny minority who already have a few expensive watches, and care about things like 'hand polished, not a seiko but a GRAND seiko'...
    Hypnotize's avatar
So, you know nothing about 'high end' watches, presumably.

    That is very pretty

Long term reviews suggest that the fine finish gets scratched easily and that would annoy me even more than an automatic watch that does not keep good time, so I will stick with my aliexpress watches run by the Seiko VH31 that has a sweeping second hand and is more accurate than a ten grand Rolex (but probably less so than this hybrid GS). High end watches are jewelry, status symbols and toys to splash your cash on, not things to tell the time. Once you get your head around that you'll be just fine

Expire this.. dont want to read the Grand Seiko hater comments anymore

Grand Seiko really do need to rebrand, every discussion I see is just dominated by "it's just a fancy Seiko". Unfortunately I feel like it's never going to break free of this, no matter how amazing their tech or craftmanship is.

Good deal (if they have any in stock) - if you can get you head around where they put the date window.
    davek's avatar
Doesn’t matter where they put it, you can guarantee that on the two times a month you look at the date, the minute hand will be right over the window

If anybody still wants this colourway it is the same price at the Watches of Switzerland site

If I didn't dislike green dials / bezels, GMTs and power reserve indicators I might consider this. Mind you it would probably just look like another Seiko Prospex then.

Love the spring drive, smoothest hand sweep I’ve seen.
