About this deal

Despite the description saying it is a Highland Whisky,it might be Ledaig looking at the reviews on the website.

Details

A heavily peated single malt from the Highlands of Scotland, Siren Bay is brimming with notes of coastal smoke and elegant fruit. Matured for a generous 18 years, a portion of the whisky aged in oloroso sherry casks, imparting sumptuous layers of sweetness and spice to the hearty peat smoke that sings at its core.

Nabbed a bottle last time it was reduced to this price, it's decent stuff.
I compared it blind against the Ledaig 18 and apart from being peated they are otherwise completely different.
Lengthy finish but not overly complex, though for the price hard to grumble really.

Interesting some people thought it was Ledaig! What do you think it is?

I would have gone for that if I hadn't just bought the Glendronach.

Quite the age statement, the ABV suggests a Talisker of sorts?

Close, but Talisker's trademark is 45.8 not .7 Description suggests it may be ledaig

How trustworthy is an age statement?
    ChrisLawson1967's avatar
You mean as an indicator of quality, or that the age statement is genuine ?

Glad to know. How come our funeral homes are not as well managed?

Sounds like Talisker to me. Might be worth a try considering regular Talisker 18 is near £200.00 these days. Another good MoM deal - masterofmalt.com/whi…ky/. Cask strength Campbeltown, probably Glen Scotia for less than the price of the regular bottle.
