Avoid. Worst company I’ve ever had the misfortune to use.

Complaints include (this is just a selection!)

Missed the install date by weeks (then refused to honour the OFCOM policy on offering a payment to customers when this happens - insisting they missed the “activation date, not the install date”!)
Messed up my wall during install, leaving a big hole in the wall
Moved the goalposts on price (having only ended up taking to them after seeing a price on here, which they eventually refused to honour)
Support is practically Non-existent (I’m talking DAYS to get a response - what use is that when you have no internet?). You can spend HOURS on the telephone getting nowhere, except getting more and more frustrated as you get cut off (again).
Arrogant and rude customer service (not in the UK).
Tried to charge me £170 for a £20 3G hub that I didn’t want and had sent back to them

I made a similar comment to this one on a third party website and one of their employees replied to my anonymous account and included my real name. I reported them to the site, who agreed it was a breech of personal data and deleted the comment. Hyperoptic then thought it amusing to repost the comment/my name in another comment.

So hands up … who wants to use an ISP that will gladly dox you and deanonymise you on websites you visit? Will leave a big gaping hole in your wall? Will advertise deals and not honour them? Will take DAYS to respond to any issues. Will try and charge you for equipment you’ve returned? ETC…

Trust me. Avoid this company like the plague.

Sorry to hear that. Doesn't sound like my experience. Who missed the install date? You or them? Was the distribution equipment already in place?
Been with them for about 10 year now and have been great. Glad I'm not stuck with the openreach network.

Funny I just got my Virgin from £55 a month to £22, the beauty of actually being willing to cancel. Argued with them before and they wouldn't touch it, then I just went "fine cancel" and then suddenly £22 a month lol.

For a household with 2 adults with fairly regular internet usage (streaming TV, PS5, working from home/video calls) is 1GB worth it over 500MB or would the latter suffice? (edited)
    rapid111111's avatar
500 Mbps will be more than fine. But for £5 more you get double that.

hey guys can anyone help please?

I would like to use TCB, but the TCB link does not take you to the amazon/JL voucher page, but the code does work or should work.

Additionally, using the code would disregard the cashback.

Is it worth trying it with the TCB link then later haggling with Hyper over the amazon/jl voucher?

For anyone looking to make use of this, I was able to get 1g for £35pm 24months with first 6 months free

Works out cheaper per effective month than this deal (edited)
