    Before last Aug. tax rise Hardys Stamp chardonnay was £4-99 and included in the 25% offer which worked out at £3-75 a bottle.
    Since then it`s not been included in the 25% offer because it`s £5-25 which is below the £5-50 a bottle limit.
    Currently it`s two for a tenner.

    Since the tax rise the prices have been manipulated for these offers and the supermarkets have also added their prices rises too.

    I don`t buy these 25% off anymore and generally use Aldi where you can buy as many or as few as you like.
    And their wine is just as good. (edited)

    I agree, a few bottles fall just under the limit, then there seems to be a huge jump to the next price bracket. Seems to have become a scam recently.

    I'm sure these '25% offers' are more frequent and are more of a marketing gimmick rather than actually offering a genuine discount. I feels the stores put up the prices in the 1st place

    No, they're sporadic but you can usually expect them on the run up to Christmas, theybe no bearing on the regular pricing. Asda have been doing these promo's for 20+ years off and on (I worked there many many years ago)

    Just wanted to thank you, I picked up some of their ES cava. I missed out last time, but they've reduced them by 50p a bottle since then!

    If you like a heavy chardonnay, 'The most wanted' is great, works out £6 a bottle if you buy 6
