    That base is a metal finish only, it is actually made out of resin and plastic.

    Be careful with these cheap parasol bases, they are plastic filled with dry cement. The upright flexes in the base and will eventually fail.

    Better option is to get an all steel base which is going to last.

    How is this a bargain? This is where it is best to stock up in the sales, to use the following season. Every year Homebase reduce down their metal and cement parasol bases to £15 then £10. That's when I stocked up.
