M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child's greatest companion and a parent's greatest ally. Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma (Get Out's Allison Williams), M3GAN can listen and watch and learn as she becomes friend and teacher, playmate and protector, for the child she is bonded to. When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting of Hill House), Gemma's unsure and unprepared to be a parent. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems--a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.

Critics Consensus
Unapologetically silly and all the more entertaining for it, M3GAN is the rare horror-comedy that delivers chuckles as effortlessly as chills. Read critic reviews

Fantastic film that’s so much more than a horror film. The moment where she reacts differently than expected is amazing because you’re not expecting what happens.

    Looking forward to the sequel.

Dumb film, honestly I weren't expecting much but eugh, like something from the 80s you had never heard of but rented from that shop that had a few videos upstairs, next to the sacks of potatoes

    So not Chuckie then?

Why so much hate for this film?
I really liked this film and I am a fan of the Chuckie films (although some of the later ones are terrible, the less said the better). It's not Chuckie, it's similar but with a slightly different twist.

Yes there's a few, no great ones though.

Depends on the types of film you like but Aftersun (2022) which is currently on BBC iPlayer is very good IMO.

The male lead Paul Mescal was nominated for an Oscar.

If you're into action films you may think it's dull though. (edited)

I missed this when it was on Netflix (or whichever platform it was on). Anyone know if its on any streaming channels at the minute?
