Also better to get the gortex versions, agree they wear out very fast on tarmac etc

Definitely wouldn’t get the goretex version. They fill with water and it doesn’t come out. That said, after a month they’ll be holes in the uppers, so the water will then come out.
Of you do get the goretex, at least half a size bigger needed, and they’re an even narrower shoe (edited)

Good price, but the current model is Speedcross 6 so these are quite old.
I had a pair and they are good for rugged terrain.

If the shoe is good - what a difference if current model is 6? It's not like it won't get android updates (yet)
With employers program you can get additional 10% if I'm not mistaken.

Decent shoes but if you're not using them for their purpose (off-road), then the sole will wear quickly on tarmac. Obvious but worth mentioning.

I've got these an 960 Mles later they're virtually flat...an that's on mixed terrain around 30% tarmac ...that's great for me as ridiculously comfortable

These look like the knock off Chinese Salomon's that were in eBay a few years back. They looked near enough identical but had a different material under the insole and generally didn't last as long.

Salomon never released a speedcross with this colour on...

I love the style of these but do find them to be very warm even the non gortex ones

Great shoes, but got some inov8s lined up after my current pair of speed crosses finally die. Done a good few xc seasons in them 😃

I always think of the tread on these like qualifying tyres for motorsport. Really great grip while it lasts, but if you walk, drive or run on tarmac, they’ll be smooth in no time. But nevertheless brilliant off-road trainers. Much prefer the CS (Climashield) option as they’re more weather resistant. Definitely go 1/2 to 1 size up as well. Still one of my best off-road trainers ever used.
