Taken from the website: TUDOR Heritage Black Bay Bracelet Watch M79230N-0009. A new addition to the Heritage Black Bay family, this diver’s watch in stainless steel draws its characteristic elements from TUDOR’s history. It inherits the general lines, as well as the domed 41mm dial and crystal from the first TUDOR diving watches. It features the particularly prominent winding crown from the famous 7924 reference of 1958, aka the “Big Crown”, while its characteristic angular hands, known as “snowflake”, were borrowed from TUDOR watches used by the French National Navy in the 1970s. The indication of guaranteed water depth (200m) engraved in cream on the dial and the triangle on the rotatable black bezel are also key design features inspired by history. Fitted with TUDOR's MT5602 self-winding mechanical movement with bidirectional rotor system. With power reserve of 70 hours. This model is featured on a stainless steel bracelet. Complete with 2 year manufacturing guarantee and branded TUDOR packaging.

    The Poor Man's Rolex?

What's with the fake snobbish elitism? You buy the watch you like, you can afford and feel comfortable with!

Nice watches but £450 for a service ouch.

I have a Tudor Prince Oysterdate from new since the late 80s, worn everyday, serviced twice, last time in 2021 by Rolex at St James Mayfair for £243.50 incl parts all in. It came back looking nearly new (excluding the strap which is no longer made), with various parts, including the Rolex crown, replaced for free. The only parts I was charged (and initially estimated) were new hands, for £23.75 excl vat.

Meanwhile, even secondhand its "value" has increased don't know how many times, might exceeding inflation even. What that means, is even including service I have been wearing it for all these years for free, sort of.

Get a second hand Rolex instead, let’s face it. Tudor is a brand, Rolex made up to try and get money off the less well off.

i have a used Rolex and the quality, even 3 years old, is superb!

what type of Rolex could you get for £3k?

    Those hands are horrendous

Yep the “snowflake” hands on Tudor BB are divisive: you either like them or not. Still a good deal for this watch.

    This or a family holiday???

Family holiday will give everyone memories for life.

These watches only impress other blokes you shake your wrist at

£2800 on a watch? More money than sense. That's enough to keep me in smokes for best part of a year.

Most would rather have a watch

Most Rolex commenters don’t actually own one.
Mine rarely leaves the safe, too scared to wear it in all honesty.
I’ve a tag carrera calibre 5 as a daily and I love its looks.
I tell you something the quality of the exterior is no different from the Rolex, could even say it’s slightly better.
Sadly the movements are worlds apart.
If you can afford it and you like it buy it.
Most people can’t afford and bring watch threads down, some would rather have a better car or a holiday or two and that’s fair enough.
It’s a deals website and compared to other retailers this is a deal.
Second hand ones can only be had for a few hundred less. (edited)

Rox were selling these for about £2350 a month or so ago. So it's a deal compared to other retailers, but not compared to their previous price (which looked like it was an error to be fair).
Actually, this is the 41mm rather than the 39mm they were selling about a month ago. The 39mm is probably the more popular. (edited)
    bespokebicycle's avatar
it was an error which they corrected, no one got it at that price to my knowledge.

I have one of these and love it (albeit the blue model). And I love the hands!

The new Black Bay monochrome would definitely be the purchase I'd make over this.
    Scrooge_McDuck's avatar
But that will not be discounted and is £1000 more.

I genuinely want to know, how is this different from the Seiko for £90 on hukd?
    tinfoilhat's avatar
something Seiko comparable would be more like £700. Something like a Seiko prospex. Then factor in residual values etc ^^ someone above commented how his/her Tudor watch has increased in value, I'm not sure the same could be said for a Seiko.

Meant to be in response tot he rolex point

Given so many can buy rolex on the monthlies this does not really stand. The difference between rolex and tudor for 99% of rolex wearers is the marketing that makes it perceived as so much better. They do not care for the specs or the real differences

They just want the brand in - rolex is now like that brand that has the badge on the arm and you see the coke heads at footy twisting to show the badge... most have rolex on too.

Also, the other aspect of rolex ownership is deciding if you are going to "risk" wearing it or not these days, which is very sad. A friend is well to do and has a number of them, but only wears them round the house, or when visiting friends etc as will never wear them in and around London - the risk is probably bigger in his head than real life, but he does not wear a watch to worry. So the idea the Tudor is the poor man's Rolex is not true. The poor man robs the Rolex.

As for the watch, I love it, but fancy a pelagos as I have the burgundy tudor... (edited)
    goody's avatar
I have been looking at the pelagos a nice blue one

okay watch to keep as a spare in a drawer

Yeah you’re better off wearing a proper watch on your wrist, like a Rolex.

    Black bay 58 is better
    mxer450's avatar
I was going to say, I thought it was a 58 ? What's the difference do you know? ..looks exactly like a BB58? (edited)

There was only 1 available - now sold.
  22. saver1971's avatar
I like this watch, but I would probably get a homage for 1/10th of the price from San Martin for example.
