Seiko 5 Automatic SNKE51J1 Mens 39mm Watch

Very basic, simple watch. Looks better in pictures than on hand. Not accurate, was losing 53s a day. After calibrating it now gains 19s a day and that is a best it can be calibrated. Good for my watch collection, but not for wearing.

It uses a 7S26 movement. I have a similar watch that uses this movement but not this exact model.

Overall It’s a good and simple watch for the price and brand.

The time piece itself feels decently built. The same can’t be said for the strap as it does feel mediocre. It catches a lot of hairs and the opening clasp has sharp edges. I have swapped mine with a nato strap.

The watch cannot be hand winded using the crown to charge the mechanism.

You need to shake the watch for the automatic mechanism to be charged.

The date change is gradual and takes time to complete.

So never change the date between 9pm to 4am as this can damage the internal overtime. (edited)

Sat on the train next to someone who had this watch on, but with a very dark dial, maybe dark blue. I noticed it as it looked really smart and as a watch nerd I do look out for others.

Obviously didn't feel it but did look a bit light weight around the lugs but then I stopped watching perving
