About this deal

Tidal Nigeria offering prices from $2.56 Individual, $3.85 Family or $1.07 for students. UK credit and debit cards accepted AFAIK having tried it myself.

Method:

1. Add the Tunnelbear extension onto chrome for free here

2. Connect to Nigeria

3. Head to tidal.com/pricing.

4. Create a NEW tidal account while connected to the VPN by clicking on the hamburger menu and selecting start free trial. Make a new account and the pricing should come up if they have not already done so. Feel free to extend trial to 60 days for $0.50.

A quick tip if you don't have a second email is to use the + sign like this: johndoe+tidal@gmail.com. Tidal will recognise it as a new account

5. Choose your plan and select continue

6. Input your UK card info and save your details.

7. Done! You can now turn off the VPN and log in as normal. You will initially get Nigerian recommendations but after a while it will tailor to your tastes.

If step 6 doesn't work try disconnecting from the VPN before saving your card details and clicking continue.

Happy listening!

For anyone struggling - Before you hit pay after entering card details disconnect the VPN 🏼
They have just taken my first payment since I signed up in June last year

Try disconnecting the VPN just before you hit the subscribe button. Made it work for me.

Glad you like it. A hack is to use you normal address like johndoe@gmail.com then use a +tidal so you sign up with johndoe+tidal@gmail.com. no new email required

The Argentinian Tidal deal that ended last year was due to a Country regulation regarding foreign payment methods that forced Tidal to close accounts.

Currently I have Tidal ( Nigeria ) £2pm, and an 18 month Spotify (India) that was £18. Both of these have been running for months without a VPN

So what is to stop Nigeria doing the same as Argentina

Hopefully Taylor Swift isn't big in Nigeria and I'll stick to the Nigerian recommendations.

i hav e tried using HOLA the free VPN on MacOs and created a new account on the Argentinian website because the monthly fee is 50 pence per month (380 pesos). I can use the trial (without lossless streaming) but whatever i try I can't put a card in my payment methods. I have tried credit cards, mono cards with VPN, without VPN just before the payment page or since log in etc. I have tried various combinations but I just can't pay with a card.
If this would work, it would be way cheaper

If, being tired operative word. But it doesn't, hence why people are using Nigeria 🤦🏻‍♂️

Argentinian was cheaper. I think I was paying like 90p.

Yeah…then tidal got wise to it 😞

I have just tested it again and can confirm it still works. Check you are connected to Nigeria and not the default server on the VPN

Stupid question, but is it USD that's being billed or what is the foreign currency being used?

Yep, usd not Nigerian naira! They use the same sign which is confusing

Can confirm this works thanks OP. I used Nord VPN to setup the account with the Nigeria server and then turned the VPN off when doing bank details.

    Worked for me. Thanks OP.

Can see an optian for students, is it because I have put my real age rather than say a age of 16?
    usernamehasalreadybeen's avatar
No students in Nigeria, probably all kid knapped!

What's the best way to add family member's? Obviously create their account whilst using the vpn, but does the principle member have to send the request whilst using the vpn?

I used surfshark. Disconnected VPN, entered my bank details. Stopped VPN. Clicked on the button and it worked. Cheers

Used tunelbear and disconnected at point of submitting bank details and it worked, thanks op, hope it lasts longer than the argentina one did
  17. ziggycat's avatar
You can't use Argentina anymore for this method.

You might get it going but they will cancel you after a couple of months WHEN THEY NOTICE YOU ALWAYS USE IT FROM UK like they did to us. Unless you are disciplined enough to always have a VPN on, which on multiple devices I find rather challenging (phones, car, streamer etc) to make it worth the fuss. You better off with a 3 months Spotify trial to be honest which is guaranteed to last 3 months. (edited)

Don't talk BS I've had this account for 9 months now..stop with the scaremongering. Go play with your Spotify leave Tidal for the VPN grownups
