About this deal

This printer is back in stock after previous deal. Add the printer and something cheap to your basket (e.g Viking Presentation display book A4 Black 10 Pockets £1.43) to take it over the new user voucher code spend of £59 ex vat. Then use code VGB-UK15NEW at checkout to bring total price down to £60.37. From previous deal can get fairly cheap compatible cartridges so is good alternative to basic inkjet printer (found with my previous inkjet printer it wasted ink before you printed and with new basic inkjet printers there don't seem to be cheap compatible cartridges available). Note it doesnt come with USB cable so you need to get a cable if you don't have one already. Link to previous deal (Brother HL-1110 A4 Mono Laser Printer for £59.16 at Viking Direct | hotukdeals). Delivery is free as you are spending over £29 ex Vat)

100% agree on these comments. Do NOT ever buy Ink Jet if you do not print very often as they will dry out.

Do these still work with windows 11. I have a brother hl2550d which doesn't get detected by window 11 now so kind of no use now. Brother did announce they stopped windows 11 compatability for some printers so best to check if this printer is on the list or not. Says on website minimum requirements windows 8 so not sure if someone who has windows 11 if it will work or not just to bear in mind. (edited)

I've got the 1210w model, which is pretty much the same as this one, plus wifi. I set it up yesterday. It works with Win 11. If you're in doubt, download the driver, and you'll see it selects automatically Win 11. (edited)

Good to flag this. Got this a few months back and was a bit annoying having to dig through the cable box for an old usb that fit!

If anyone is like me and only print B&W stuff every couple of months i highly recommend getting a laser printer.I got an HP M102w laser printer 5 years ago and it's still on the original cartridge and prints like it did on day one.I was £73 for it back then but they had a £50 cashback offer at the time so ended up being really cheap.
This Brother is a superb price for a laser printer.

Anyone had success using this with a chrome OS device?
    sheffield788's avatar
I've got the 1210w model and no success with Chrome OS. I only set it up yesterday with Win 11, so early days, but I've tried it on my Chromebook, and eventually, I've given up.

Does this do auto duplex printing? (edited)
    Aydin_G's avatar
If you get the brother app, you can choose double-sided printing as an option.

I'm trying to decide whether to spring for a colour laser from Viking. There's three models I'm trying to choose between, if anyone has any experience with them.

L3220CW or L3240CDW (can't really spot the differences in these). Or the L3520CDW, which upgrades to it being an all in one machine.

    Would appreciate any thoughts!

IIRC the "D" in the product name refers to automatic duplex capability

Go to a proper printers to do it for you rather than diy.

A bargain at this price, have one, paid much more, and it's very reliable.

That's a nice price for a laser printer.

Wow, how prices have risen. I bought one of these about 3 or 4 years ago, on a deal for about £39 for a mates business. It's still going strong as far as I'm aware. Great little laser with cheapish toners.

I actually paid about the same for one perhaps 7 or so years ago but I gave it away. Then bought the second one for considerably more. I'd have shopped around but I needed a good printer, quick.

Any recommendation for 3 in 1, basically with printer I need copier too. Thanks in advance.
