I had one of these but when I got a Homebase 3 it wouldn't connect. I contacted Eufy who did some checks and sent me a replacement Homebase 3. It still wouldn't connect and so they have said they will replace the camera. This is a 2 year old camera and they made the offer without hesitation. Their customer response has been great throughout all this.
The life on the battery really depends on the settings and how often it is activated, but 3 months is reasonable for the one in our back garden.
You can plug a solar panel into these, but in the end I got the solar powered ones on a deal and they keep close to 100% charged all the time.

Assume the recordings are just saved to an internal memory card, therefore if someone nicks the camera the recordings are gone too ?

Recordings are saved on the homebase within the home or online if you have a subscription.

Probably a stupid question, but with the twin pack, are they independent of each other? I.e. can one be used in one house and one in another house? Looking for one of this, as is my mum, so wondering could I just go with the twin pack and give her one of them.

So the local storage the 8gb memory card, can the footage be accessed via wifi with an app with no subscription or do you need extra?

I am not savvy with these things and wanted to know if any had any experience they could share?

Also is the night vision any good?

And final question which might be obvious but once the battery is flat you can just take it down and recharge right? (edited)

The images are stored to the internal storage on the camera. You can access them via the Eufy app with no subscription. You can also view the camera while you are away from home, and there is also an "away" mode which can set off an internal alarm in the camera if it detects someone.
They only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi which may mean you disabling the 5.0GHz on your modem while you're connecting it to the WiFi.
The night vision is good as we have it in our garden. But then we do have a sensor security light at the back and there are two street lights which light up our back garden.
You can very easily take them down and recharge them via USB, or you can use a powerpack, or some people fit a solar panel.
As others have said, I have now moved to the solar powered one and you never have to worry about charging it. I've not used it through the winter yet, but they have been fine keeping fully charged for the last month or two. (edited)

Which model do you use? I’ve read mixed reviews about solar build quality of the solars

Can you add a solar panel to keep the batteries topped up? Also, do they work with the hub?
    Thanks

Thinking of getting eufy cameras, does the home base need plugged into your wifi router?

anyway we can use these cameras on tapo app?
    Robbo_59's avatar
I'm afraid not. Two different manufacturers. You can view them on the Google Home app however.

Do the recordings save to the built in EMMC card and then are viewable on the phone app , or do you need a Homebase ?? I also can't see in the specs if it can do continuous recording ?

Lowest price I have seen for this. Hot. paid £45. Happy with it.
